Top NBA Insider Shams Charania publicly ripped by Jimmy Butler agent over Heat trade reports
Jimmy Butler's agent has responded to Shams Charania's report about the Phoenix Suns being a possible destination for the Miami Heat star.
Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler's agent slams ESPN's Shams Charania for alleged false reporting
The biggest name on the NBA trade market right now is Jimmy Butler. The superstar wants to go to a team that can give him another contract and has the Miami Heat listening to trade offers. That development would mean Insider Shams Charania will have a busy time talking to his sources.
When the news first broke on the internet, the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and Dallas Mavericks were touted to be frontrunners. At this time, analysts and fans speculated which team would improve with Jimmy Butler on their squad.
Then as those discussions continued through the evening, Shams Charania dropped another post from his X account. He revealed that the Phoenix Suns had joined the race to discuss a potential trade with the Miami Heat. But as soon as this post went online, Jimmy Butler’s agent, Bernard Lee, responded on X.
Alright listen. I gave you a pass yesterday because I was busy but if you don’t stop putting my name on your complete and utter made up bullshit because you know you normally arent worth my time to acknowledge.. (continued) https://t.co/1KOXza9kUI

Lee was ticked off enough to reply to the ESPN Insider as Charania had specifically mentioned his name while suggesting Butler was interested in the Suns. However, with these replies, it becomes clear that the agent did not give him this information and that Shams Charania was wrong.
Suns Insider adds to Shams Charania’s woes
The ESPN Insider has not yet responded to Bernard Lee’s comments. But a little while after Lee’s replies went viral, reporter Gerald Bourguet came up with another update. He exclusively covers the Phoenix Suns and used his sources to confirm.
The writer also mentioned that considering the tax situation of both the Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat, it made no sense to trade for the six-time All-Star. Even if they went through the idea, they would have to break up their current Big 3.
Per a source, the Suns aren't pursuing a Jimmy Butler trade. Aside from the obvious difficulties with both the Suns and the Heat being tax apron teams that I already pointed out, Phoenix believes in their Big 3 and what they've seen from this group (11-2) when healthy

Breaking up that trio may not be the best decision considering they are dominant when healthy. But it does bring the spotlight back on Shams Charania once two people debunked his news: both the agent of the player involved and a close source of one of the teams.
