In Short
  • Shannon Sharpe predicts A'ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo's future child could be a basketball prodigy.
  • He believes their child might combine the talents of top players like JuJu and Maya Moore.
  • Sharpe emphasizes A'ja Wilson's potential to become the greatest of all time in women's basketball.

Ever since A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo have been together, the basketball world has been in awe of the way they handle each other every day.

From the time spent together at the Paris Olympics, some wondered how the two paired, considering one was the de facto best women’s basketball player on the planet, and the other was an All-Star, but still not in the same league.

Adebayo has eventually become the Miami Heat’s captain and has willed his team to a decent run this season. If not for their recent four-game skid, the team would have been in a playoff spot.

All those losses came after the center exploded for 83 points in a game to overtake the late-great Kobe Bryant. That performance drew a lot of criticism and praise, which has left Adebayo having to justify his effort almost every other day.

But in between this, A’ja Wilson has supported her boyfriend, giving him the courage to face the media head-on. This ended up sparking a conversation on Nightcap, where former First Take and Undisputed analyst Shannon Sharpe said this:

That kid gonna be 7 foot tall. She 6’4 and Bam like 6’10… If it’s a girl, they’ll have a combination of JuJu and Maya Moore.

Shannon Sharpe remarked

This was what he felt would happen after former NBA star Joe Johnson mentioned that A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo’s child could be another LeBron James. Sharpe believes that if it happens to be a girl, she might be the next big WNBA great after her mother.

Shannon Sharpe is happy for A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo

While talking about their future child, Shannon Sharpe remarked that A’ja Wilson, who will turn 30 in a few months, might not be thinking about that now.

After four MVPs, the Las Vegas Aces center is probably just scratching the surface of what she can do, as she has elevated her game every year. Moreover, Sharpe and his crew then went on to talk about how Bam Adebayo coming into her life has elevated both of them.

I like Bam. Man, they seem genuinely, genuinely happy… Look at how she talks about him. Look at how he talks about her. They’re so supportive.

Shannon Sharpe said

The NFL Hall of Famer reminded his colleagues that the Miami Heat star was there to support his lady when she won her fourth WNBA MVP award, and also when she led her Aces to their third championship.

On the flip side, Bam Adebayo has been playing lights out ever since A’ja Wilson returned from her other work. That proves that the two lift each other, and their support is something that should make fans happy.

Shannon Sharpe warns Bam Adebayo can never match A’ja Wilson’s accomplishments

Their support for each other has seen Bam Adebayo etch his name in the history books. But as per Shannon Sharpe, that is as far as he can go in terms of bragging rights at home.

Bam been playing some ball ever since A’ja came into his life… He ain’t gonna catch her as far as accolades. He can forget that. That ship done sailed… I think she has a great case right now to be the GOAT of women’s basketball.

Shannon Sharpe said

The 57-year-old started listing all the accolades A’ja Wilson has amassed ever since she broke out as South Carolina’s and college basketball’s best player.

Sharpe believes that by the time she hangs up her sneakers, the seven-time All-Star could become the undisputed GOAT. Bam Adebayo can never think of even coming close to matching that.
