Shannon Sharpe has been under harsh criticism after very ardently supporting the Indiana Fevers guard Caitlin Clark. The ESPN analyst had added fuel to the widespread fire by unknowingly disparaging Megan Thee Stallion.
In the battle of the WNBA, the ‘WAP’ singer Megan Thee Stallion was an unexpected entry. What started with a sincere woke motive to bring in the respect Clark rightfully deserved, turned into something bitter. In a sequence of jabs, Sharpe called a user out for propagandizing their own perspective, highlighting his own indifference.
In a further heated exchange of tweets between the two, Shape bit back by dismissing the user for indulging in horsehair wigging. The user had an unrecognizable Stallion’s image wearing a wig as their display picture, which allegedly went unnoticed by the ESPN analyst.
The co-host of ESPN’s biggest show casually attacking Black women in such a public way and nothing will be done about it. https://t.co/yinTODm2zb

The longstanding debate about Sharpe’s undivided attention towards Clark doubled down in the former’s disfavor. However, this wasn’t the former tight end’s first heated exchange with the American singer. The previous altercation ended with Sharpe apologizing to Stallion when she visited the Club Shay Shay podcast. Coming as a consequence of inappropriate comments made by the football legend, his tweet upped the ante.
The internet seemed to have been eyeing Shannon Sharpe for a while now over his consecutive controversial moves. Netizens slammed him in the comments over his ‘Anti-black’ and ‘racist’ comments about the woman’s hair, taking its toll to the extent that people questioned the legitimacy of Sharpe’s previous apology to Stallion.
Shannon Sharpe on the receiving end of users’ fury
Another day of Sharpe being critically examined on social media. The comments beneath Sharpe’s post about ‘horse hair’ were filled with angry users calling him out.
With odds not in the sports analyst’s favor, one user even advised him to stay out of social media for the time being. In addition to the Caitlin Clark debate, Shannon Sharpe now has another round of shots directed at him. Some users in the comments section are convinced of the latter’s apology taking form again. On the other hand, a good amount of users thought all the chaos of sheer necessity. Here are some of the reactions:
Unc that’s Megan Thee Stallion lol. You should probably stay off personal socials for a while…

“Horse 2 Rob of his hair,” very interesting words to use…. Very weird actually. You saw her profile picture and assumed it was weave? Are you implying that she couldn’t have grown this from her scalp. What would lead you to this conclusion?

The irony is his misogynoir towards someone using the avi of a woman (Meg) who he had to apologize to on his own show, and doesn’t even realize.

Surely the comments would have met the veteran NFL star’s eye. Nevertheless, Sharpe will look to move on from what has been a controversial few months for him.
