Former NFL player Shannon Sharpe was highly critical of the Lakers' great LeBron James after his recent matchup against the Bulls.

“Got to be kidding me!” Shannon Sharpe goes off on LeBron James after terrible mistake leads to Lakers collapse

LeBron James and Shannon Sharpe

Just over a day ago, LeBron James was the hero for the Los Angeles Lakers in a win over the Chicago Bulls. However, on Thursday, James’ huge mistake led to the Bulls snatching an essential win on home turf. The Lakers had a commanding 16-point lead going into the fourth quarter, but they let the Bulls score 44 points in that quarter, including a spectacular 9-2 run in the last 10 seconds to win the game.

Even one of James’ supportive media allies, Shannon Sharpe, could not resist blaming the King; to be fair, he had good reason to do so. James not only had a poor shooting performance that evening, but he also made the mistake that gave the Bulls the lead with six seconds remaining. Sharpe took to X to put forward his views on James’ performance.

Bron, you’ve got 2 be f**ing kidding me. You gambled and gave up a 3 and turned it over that led 2 another 3. What was a 5 pt lead with 12 secs. You’re dwn with 6 secs and lose on a half court shot after Reaves puts you up 1 with 3 secs. F********KKKKKK.

Many on the NBA social space were shocked by Sharpe’s criticism of LeBron, but they had to support the former NFL tight end. Neither head coach JJ Redick was able to conceal his sadness at the devastating way they lost. In his post-game press conference, he referred to the defeat as “devastation,” which is, to put it mildly, a pretty accurate assessment.

With every loss, the Lakers jeopardize their NBA Playoff qualification with the regular season coming to an end. The Lakers have only nine games remaining in the regular season and face a tough schedule on the road. They sit in 4th place in the West with a 44-21 record (tied with the Memphis Grizzles) and up next for the Lakers are: the Grizzlies.

Shannon Sharpe directly blames Lakers’ recent loss on LeBron James

Shannon Sharpe was left furious with how the recent Lakers vs Bulls matchup went down towards the end of the 4th quarter. The Lakers who had a five-point lead with 10 seconds remaining managed to lose the game by 1 point, peak NBA. However, this could not be possible without someone messing up, as it was LeBron James this time around. Sharpe went at James further after the game via his podcast.

This was on LeBron, yeah! This was on LeBron, he has not played well.

Shannon Sharpe said on The NightCap Show

In addition, Sharpe also pointed out James’ poor shooting from the 3-point line. Against the Indiana Pacers in their latest meeting, James was 0-7 from the 3-point line and against the Bulls he was 0-3, showcasing his poor shooting form. With just a few games left, James will have to step up for his side in a bid to secure a Playoff berth this season.

Josh Giddey’s game-winning buzzer-beater sealed the deal for the Bulls’ against the Lakers

To defeat the Lakers at home, Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls required some late-game magic, and that’s what happened. The Bulls defeated the Lakers 119-117, their second victory over the Lakers. The win improved the Bulls’ overall record to 33–40, which is helpful as they look to qualify for the postseason. However, it was Giddey’s magic that helped secure the win.

With just 3 seconds left on the clock, the Bulls were trailing by a point. Up stepped Giddey. He made the game-winning shot beyond the half-court line as time was running out, bringing the ball across the court and calling his own number. Despite finishing with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, Giddey’s game-winning basket highlighted yet another successful outcome for the Bulls.
