It’s a challenging week for Jerry Jones as he endures immense criticism over his media interactions and interviews following the Dallas Cowboys’ fourth-consecutive home game loss. After hearing his viral radio interview, Shannon Sharpe joined the queue of critics, slamming the 82-year-old for abusing his power. 

After the humiliating 47-9 loss at the hands of the Detroit Lions, the Cowboys’ inactive offseason has come under intense scrutiny. However, when it happened again in the latest episode of 105.3 The Fan, Jones lost his temper and threatened the jobs of the hosts.

The episode grabbed a lot of attention on social media, where fans commented that the Cowboys owner is “losing his mind.” He tried to make some amends by giving justification, saying that he would be questioned about his decision by the Tribunal so he doesn’t want to be asked the same questions by the people he is “paying.” Even though he stated that he understands the backlash from fans and critics, his justification just added another reason for trolling him.

Shannon Sharpe rips into Jerry Jones for threatening radio host’s job

In the recent episode of ESPN’s First Take, sports analyst Sharpe vehemently criticized the Billionaire owner for his words during his weekly interview with the local sports radio channel. He also added that from now on, he would take pleasure in the failure of America’s team until Jones is no longer with them. 

He put a man in fear for his job. I hate, I detest, I despise someone that will prey on the weak. And because Jerry Jones is in an advantageous situation, because he has the power in this situation, he would actually say that publicly. That tells me a lot about a man.

Highlighting Jones’ statement of having someone else at the radio show to ask him (favorable) questions, Sharpe asserted that the 82-year-old never shies away from taking credit for his team’s achievement but when they struggle or face failure, he is the first to put the entire blame on them.

Although it’s unlikely that Shariff or co-host RJ Choppy would lose their jobs after this interview as the show is immensely popular, the fact that Jones was ready to use his influence and power on this put him under scrutiny. It seems until he offers an emphatic apology to the hosts, he won’t be off the fans’ radar.
