Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe has gotten tired of quarterback Joe Burrow. Last season, he was excused due to his wrist injury but he cannot escape the blame for the deteriorating 4-8 season, despite his phenomenal performance.

The Bengals are coming off another disappointing loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13 where the quarterback Burrow dazzled everyone by posting 300+ yards and three touchdowns. However, the victory was sealed by the Pittsburgh Steelers at 44-38, leaving everyone to wonder how things went wrong

In the latest episode of ESPN’s First Take, sports analyst Sharpe did not hold back from calling out the Pro Bowler quarterback to take responsibility for another losing season after all his promises made in the offseason.

They’re trying to say there’s some difference between giveaway and takeaway. No! There’s not. The ball is in the quarterback’s hand. He is responsible for it. ‘It’s defense! It’s defense!’ Patrick Mahomes went to the AFC Championship game with the second-worst defense in the league. So if Joe [Burrow] is what we’re saying he is, he has to overcome that and protect the football.

Shannon Sharpe asserted

Amid Cincinnati’s failure, Burrow is having one of his best seasons individually with 3,337 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and five interceptions along with a QBR of 73.9. The Bengals’ quarterback is leading the league in the passing game.

Shannon Sharpe makes Chad Johnson cry over the Bengals’ disappointing season

This isn’t the first time Sharpe talked about the Bengals’ failure. In the recent episode of The Nightcap podcast, he and guest Chad Johnson went into a discussion on the Bengals’ poor 4-8 record. While Johnson took the optimistic approach, expressing high hopes for the Bengals’ remaining season, Sharpe firmly dismissed this perspective believing the season is already over for them.

The legendary tight end took a more aggressive stance, demanding quarterback Joe Burrow to be held accountable. Such harsh analysis by Sharpe made his guest sentimental about his former team, who started crying.

Oh no, don’t cry, don’t cry, you ain’t crying yet, Chad, don’t let them fool you, you should be crying,” said Sharpe as he realized the tears in Chad’s eyes.

Shortly after consoling the Bengals legend, Sharpe told Johnson that he “should” rather cry after witnessing the state of his former team. The Bengals are next heading for their Week 14 match against the Dallas Cowboys– whose condition is worse after Dak Prescott’s season-ending injury
