Aaron Rodgers gave Jets fans a major scare during the organized team activities or OTAs after the quarterback began to limp and was briefly seated and seen holding onto his right heel. The immediate fear that set in amongst the fans was had he hurt a tendon? Was it serious? Is he going to be out again?
Fortunately, it turns out, the minor discomfort was caused by his shoes and it was merely a blister. Soon after the team physio took a look at his foot, Aaron Rodgers was seen limping off. Former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson were discussing the injury scare that Rodgers gave, on the Nightcap Show.
Sharpe gave a friendly piece of advice to the New York Jets quarterback with respect to how to avoid blisters.
I wore the same pair of shoes for training camp, same pair of shoes. But once the season starts, I would, you know break out a new pair of shoes on Friday, get my feet used to them. I would wear those shoes in the game, wear the game shoes in practice, and then start that, you know, all over again. But I would never, ever think about going out Sunday in a brand-new pair of shoes.Shannon Sharpe said

In his personal experience, Sharpe always relied upon shoes that he had already broken into and was accustomed to playing in. He never risked wearing a new pair to the game.
Aaron Rodgers is fine and has commenced practicing with the team normally
The issue with wearing a new pair of shoes to the game day is that they tend to be rigid and restrict the free movement of the athlete’s feet. It is only after a few wears does the shoe becomes comfortable and feasible to play in. By playing in a new pair of shoes that are not yet broken in, there is a risk of injury or more commonly, developing blisters. Sharpe advised Rodgers to tape his ankles before he began to practice in order to add an extra layer of protection.
It seems Aaron Rodgers learnt it the hard way. On the positive side, he is perfectly fine and will commence practicing with the team for the remainder of the OTAs. The quarterback has begun to practice in full swing with his new teammates. The return of Rodgers has been hyped all off-season long.
The New York Jets will hope to start seeing some returns on their hefty investments in Rodger and in the process of facilitating the players he requested the team to trade for. The expectations for the team are clear, Super Bowl or bust.
