Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley
Shaquille O’Neal is an honorary U.S. Deputy Marshal and a reserve officer on multiple forces across the country. He along with TNT colleague Charles Barkley have always talked about their appreciation for those that work on police forces.
San Antonio woke up to news earlier this week about a shooting that injured seven police officers. They were responding to a suicide call from Stone Oak, and they arrived to find the suspect barricaded inside an apartment. When the first officer arrived, the suspect shot the officer, injuring him.
Then six others tried to calm the shooter down, but they too ended up being in the line of fire. All seven of them were transported to the hospital and are being treated. Three of them have non life-threatening injuries, whereas the situation of the other four is unclear.
This news came to the attention of Shaquille O’Neal while on the sets of Inside the NBA on Thursday. As a person who thrives in doing good for others and is an honorary police officer, he shot a video on his phone where he said this to officer Jorge Ramos.
Thank you @SHAQ & Charles Barkley for all the love and support for our officers!💙

As per the San Antonio Express News, the shooter, Brandon Poulos, was killed by SWAT team. He was out on bond after being charged a few days earlier for assaulting a couple. The officers were responding to a suicide call from Poulos.
Charles Barkley joins Shaquille O’Neal in showing San Antonio police their support
Shaquille O’Neal singled out officer Jorge Ramos when speaking on the video. It could be that he knows the officer and was showing his love to him. Then when he gave the phone to Charles Barkley, the Round Mound of Rebound said.
Barkley has often stated that even though he made millions of dollars playing basketball, it is police officers, teachers, lawyers, janitors and other public service staff who do real jobs. This was his way of showing love to them.
Charles Barkley has a connection with San Antonio. He has often trolled the women of the city while on Inside the NBA. The network has tried to slow it down, but he goes after them whenever he gets a chance. But this time, it was serious business, therefore he kept it real.
