“Jealous than a motherf***er!” Shaquille O’Neal bluntly admits envying Angel Reese after LSU parade

Shaquille O'Neal and WNBA and Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese

Shaquille O’Neal has taken to Angel Reese like no one else. The two share a special bond, with the former Lakers star taking Reese under his wing as they grow a budding friendship. Never one to mince his words, Shaq’s appreciation for Reese is exemplified best in his stance on her being the best athlete to step foot in LSU. But it seems like there is a lingering sense of jealousy involved in Shaq’s praise, too.

Earlier this week, Shaquille O’Neal was joined by legendary NFL RB Leonard Fournette on the former’s The Big Podcast with Shaq. O’Neal and Fournette are two of the greatest athletes to ever play for the esteemed D1 sports program at LSU. But the two seemed in agreement when Shaq revealed the greatest athlete to ever come out of the Fighting Tigers.

However, later in the segment, Shaq revealed that he envied the success of Angel Reese with the Tigers. Reese was famously part of the 2023 Lady Tigers team that won the NCAA Title, marking the first basketball championship across genders to come home to LSU. As someone who wears his heart on his sleeve, Shaq revealed the cause of his jealousy towards the 22-year-old rookie.

I was here for the parade, jealous than a mo********er. I was like looking at all them people, I was like damn I wish I could have done that.

Shaq told Fournette and the audience on his podcast

While Shaquille O’Neal downplayed his own dominance, the big man was no joke during his college days. The Hall of Famer averaged 21.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per game while earning first team All-American honors twice. He also won the SEC player of the year and the NCAA player of the year in 1991. Safe to say, Shaq was no slouch in college.

Shaquille O’Neal and Angel Reese team up for latest trend

Shaquille O’Neal and Angel Reese are known to be good friends off the court. The two regularly hang out of the court for work projects, with Reese signed to Reebok with the company’s basketball division under Shaq.

As the two continue to hang out for off-court ventures, Reese and the 52-year-old legend joined each other to try out the latest TikTok trend.

Reese and Shaq performed the “in da club, we all fam” TikTok trend. Reese had already performed a rendition of the same trend earlier in the week with Tennessee Rapper GloRilla. Shaq and Reese continue to bond off the court, as the former Lakers Star is settling into his role as a mentor for the Chicago Sky rookie sensation.

With Reese’s on-court playstyle and paint dominance mimicking Shaq’s dominance on the glass, it seems like the 22-year-old could do well with some on-court mentorship from O’Neal as well.
