- Shaquille O'Neal denied sending inappropriate DMs to singer Sabrina Carpenter after viral messages surfaced.
- He stated that the flirty messages did not reflect his typical communication style.
- O'Neal emphasized he could easily connect with Carpenter through mutual acquaintances like Taylor Swift.
Over the course of his career as a standout basketball player and an analyst on TNT, Shaquille O’Neal has built a reputation that makes him a celebrity magnet.
The who’s who of the sporting and entertainment world have expressed excitement in engaging and interacting with the four-time champion, as his larger-than-life nature is something that sits well with everyone.
His humble nature has also endeared him well with both fans and fellow millionaires, as that is not what is normal among superstar athletes who are generally thought of as having egos bigger than themselves.
At the same time, this has also led him to have quite a few hilarious moments with famous women, particularly when he jokingly tries to shoot his shot at them.
However, a recent situation has gone viral after leaked messages show Shaquille O’Neal sending inappropriate DMs to musical artist Sabrina Carpenter.
First of all, ladies, the Diesel got way more game than that. I’m just saying.
Shaquille O’Neal said
These were the former league MVP‘s words as he was reading out the supposed DMs he sent to Sabrina Carpenter. The flirty messages were anything but how he speaks, which is what his Big Podcast with Shaq cast members agreed to.
I promise you weren’t ready for this 💀

O’Neal may have received backlash in the past for his inappropriate comments about ‘niece’ Angel Reese, but the Diesel mentioned later that he intentionally did it to generate traction. This, however, was beneath him, as the 7’1″ center clearly stated.
Shaquille O’Neal latest to get entangled in fake social media posts
The last time a basketball star’s name came up in relation to potential fake messages was Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic. Apparently, public figure Kim Kardashian tried to get him to teach her Slovenian so she could converse with him.
The internet personality shot it down as fake and made it clear that such instances stopped her from making it to Lakers games, even though her daughter loves watching basketball.
That did not have an impact on Doncic’s current child custody battle with Anamaria Goltes, but Shaquille O’Neal’s situation brings the spotlight back on fake posts running wild across social media.
Even his understudy, Angel Reese, had to shut down wild claims about things she did not even talk about. But that has not stopped such posts from cropping up.
As of now, LeBron James is the only athlete who has successfully stopped an AI company with a legal order for using his imagery to create videos. Maybe Shaquille O’Neal might have to do the same with the army of lawyers at his disposal.
Shaquille O’Neal can reach out to Sabrina Carpenter properly if he wants
Other than the fact that Shaquille O’Neal would not use that language if he wanted to shoot his shot at a celebrity, the Los Angeles Lakers great also does not need to do much to reach out to Sabrina Carpenter.

The ‘Manchild‘ singer is close to fellow musician and multiple Grammy Award-winning Taylor Swift. During Super Bowl LVIII, the 54-year-old not only met the ‘22‘ artist, but also gave her an expensive gift.
O’Neal even started a beef with Kanye West to defend Swift, while also subtly shooting his shot at Ice Spice during that same exchange.
Therefore, if the 15-time All-Star wanted to connect with Sabrina Carpenter, all he would need to do is either use his own connections to get through to her or, if needed, ask Taylor Swift to introduce him.
Sending such messages would do the opposite and flatline any relationship he has with either of these celebrities. That is why he found it hilarious enough that someone would create such messages.
