Shaquille O’Neal never passes up the opportunity to mock Charles Barkley, his ‘sidekick.’ On NBA on TNT, O’Neal and Barkley never fail to get pleasure from pulling one other’s legs. However, there are occasions when they both show each other a tremendous deal of appreciation and affection as well. This time, O’Neal was the one to disclose that, due to Barkley’s play style, his father had encouraged him to play like him.

On a recent episode of “King Charles”, Shaquille O’Neal admitted that he admired the time he spent with Charles Barkley. While saying so, he also revealed that his father wanted him to play like Barkley in his younger days. O’Neal mentioned how Barkley used his body size and was a perfect player that he even used to copy him.

Charles doesn't know this. But when I was young, the way he played, my father made me play like him because Charles uses size, he uses body, he played mean. So I tried to do everything that Charles Barkley did.

In addition to Barkley’s play on the court, O’Neal has always been impressed with the player’s attitude. Charles Barkley once wanted to kill Shaquille O’Neal

Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley have been the greatest television pair for more than ten years. Chuck’s best pal had to show up, as he now has another TV show. O’Neal joined Gayle King and Barkley on the new show, “King Charles,” in which Barkley recounted a story about his desire to kill “The Big Aristotle.”

What people don't even know, his mother and my mother and another lady known Walter Coleman, they were best three friends. He used to drive me crazy. They went on like 12 vacations a year and my mom was trying to spend money like Shaq’s mama. I was like Mama, I didn't make 1/3rd of the money Shaq made.

O’Neal, on the other hand, brought up an alternate story about their fight during the game. When O’Neal slapped Barkley, and after the game when he was in the locker room, Barkley’s mother was on the phone with Shaq’s mother. Shaq and Barkley were both scolded. However, after that, they hugged each other after being told by their mothers to make things up.
