Shaquille O’Neal has SAVAGE reply to Ben Simmons’ 2K25 rating

Shaquille O'Neal has savage reply to Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons' overall player rating in the video game NBA 2K25

Ben Simmons was once touted to be the best prospect to come out of college. He showcased that talent when he was a Rookie of the Year, All-Star, All-NBA, and Defensive team in his first 3 years with the Philadelphia 76ers. At that time, he was rated 87 on the official NBA game, 2K, from its 2019 to 2021 editions. But the upcoming NBA 2K25 ratings were leaked. Seeing the rating of the Brooklyn Nets guard in the latest edition, Shaquille O’Neal had an interesting reply.

A post with the leaked ratings popped up on social media. The comparison read that Ben Simmons‘ latest rating in NBA 2K25 is 66. To this the Big Aristotle replied:

Should be lower.

A savage reply considering Shaquille O’Neal has always held a disdain towards the Brooklyn Nets guard. He trolled the player by suggesting that he is worse than the 66 rating in a video game.

In the 2K series of official NBA video games, ratings less than 70 generally suggest that a player is below average. The 4-time champion suggesting that Ben Simmons should be lower than the 66 rating means he feels the guard should be in the category of some of the worst players.

Ben Simmons has had a torrid career ever since those heady initial years. Now, he will be paid $40 million for the upcoming season with several question marks surrounding his health and mentality. O’Neal has been critical of these factors before and has maintained that he does not respect his fellow LSU Tiger.

Ben Simmons could be on his way out of Brooklyn

A broken metatarsal ensured Ben Simmons did not play in his draft year. Then, he infamously passed on an easy shot, which effectively messed up his career with the Philadelphia 76ers. His decision to not play for them resulted in fines, and missed games. Then they traded him away to the Brooklyn Nets.

But since then, he has been dealing with recurring injuries to his back. So far in his NBA career, he has missed the equivalent of 2 full seasons in the years he has played in at least 1 game. That amounts to a lot of missed time for someone earning $40 million. He is about to be 28 years old. But time is ticking for the once uber-talented guard. The Brooklyn Nets are clearing house and are prioritizing draft capital.

Therefore, Simmons could be on his way out with one year left on his contract. The Nets have made it evidently clear that they want to move on. One thing is for sure, he has not given any evidence to any team in the NBA that he wants to be one of the best players.
