Shaquille O’Neal loses $20,000 to Marlon Wayans on two simple guesses

Shaquille O’Neal has built a reputation as someone who has made more money after leaving the NBA. Many players try to follow his methods as they want to make money like him in the business world. The Big Aristotle is also known to have a kind heart from his many philanthropic efforts. But actor and comedian Marlon Wayans is one of the few that managed to take money out of O’Neal.
The star of ‘White Chicks’ and ‘Scary Movie’ was a guest on The Big Podcast with Shaq. After discussing a lot of topics concerning comedy and sports, O’Neal asked Wayans to guess some answers for $10,000 each. First, he asked:

To this, Marlon Wayans answered ‘Kim’, referring to his older sister Kim Wayans. A shocked Diesel then asked the comedian which scene of Kim Wayans’ career made him fall in love with her. When he answered, it shocked the Big Aristotle even more.
Then Marlon Wayans explained that because of the work his sister did when the 4-time NBA champion was growing up, it was natural for the big man to like her. Moreover, he also admitted that his sister was one of the best in his family when it comes to creative brilliance.
So, it was not unnatural of him to figure out who amongst his family members Shaquille O’Neal admired the most. But what made him super happy was the fact that he won $20,000 from the former Los Angeles Lakers great. Winning ‘Shaq money’ was a bigger win for him than just meeting up with an old friend.
Shaquille O’Neal made most of his money investing in Google
Shaquille O’Neal made a lot of money through his investments. But he credits being at the right place at the right time for his success. He revealed this in a conversation with The Wall Street Journal back in 2020

That investment made him a fortune through Google. It is unknown if he is still an investor in the giant, but he made as he was in the hotel at the same time as the meeting.
When NBA players sign their massive contracts, usually the first people who contact them are investment bankers. Those investments do end up helping them save for the long run. But Shaquille O’Neal set a standard where players with business skills tend to multiply their wealth.
Former teammate LeBron James has taken a leaf out of O’Neal’s book and made himself more than a billion. A plethora of new-age NBA stars are also following in the footsteps of the Big Aristotle in creating generational wealth for themselves.
