NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has been garnering a lot of attention lately. This is due to his recent comments regarding WNBA superstars Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. Having long supported women’s basketball, O’Neal is now invested in the growing rivalry between Indiana Fever star Clark and Chicago Sky star Reese.
O’Neal in a recent appearance on ‘The Big Podcast’ made his intentions clear regarding the two stars. He chose Reese over Clark. However, he gave Clark flowers and praised her for how Clark Plays and carries her side. Additionally, O’Neal has always been very supportive of the Sky star, Reese, and his recent assessment of her made that clear.
O’Neal, meanwhile, has played with and won NBA titles with some of the greatest guards in NBA history. Those were Penny Hardaway, Kobe Bryant, and Dwyane Wade. Hence, his statement that he wanted the rookies from the Sky and Fever to face off looked a little strange coming from him. It will be intriguing to watch how these two stars develop their rivalry in the coming years of the WNBA.

However, one player that has stood out in the WNBA is the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark. In relevance to this, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal once made a clear admission regarding the WNBA and Clark. He stated on ‘The Big Podcast’ that other players also deserve much credit rather than Clark alone.
O’Neal highlighted the importance of these other stars too as he was talking about the WNBA.
Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are in the running for the 2024 ROTY Award. At present, Clark is currently leading the race as she has performed better than the Chicago Sky rookie. However, it remains to be seen how Reese will bounce back in the upcoming Playoff matches. Hence, it will be interesting to watch who wins the 2024 WNBA ROTY Award.
