One debate that separates all sporting fans is the race for calling out the ultimate GOAT in every sport. Similarly, this race is led by Michael Jordan and Lebron James in Basketball. NBA Legend Shawn Kemp had an excellent career but he failed to grab any championship, majorly because of the dominance of the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan in the late 90’s. 

During his course of 8 years with Seattle Supersonics, Kemp had reached the finals in just 1996, where his team was manhandled by Jordan and his peers. This led to Kemp choosing Jordan over Lebron James over the GOAT debate, as he suggests that Jordan won those championships with him staggering up the major role.

Kemp recently joined ‘The Dab Roast’ series on YouTube where he was asked his take on the GOAT debate, to which he answered without any second thought, “Imma say Michael Jordan. I think LeBron James has done great, but only thing Michael Jordan ever did was win,” Kemp mentioned.

Whereas Lebron has the Finals MVP with 3-different teams, Jordan has won 6 championships with the Bulls. Kemp feels there’s nothing LeBron or anyone can do to match up to MJ’s greatness. “Nobody. Only because he’s [Jordan] won the six championships and he’s won six times,” he stated. 

There is absolutely no doubt that NBA is one of the most competitive sporting leagues. Both Jordan as well as Lebron is a blessing to have enriched everyone with their presence, skills and gameplay. However, at the end of the day, this is a discussion that ends with a personal opinion. One might agree with Kemp, but the other might strongly vouch against it.
