Kevin Love and Jimmy Butler
Former Miami Heat player Kevin Love has been enjoying one thing in particular during the trade market this season – their trade fiasco around star man, Jimmy Butler. The Heat have, at long last, dealt with Butler, as they traded him to the Golden State Warriors in return for Andrew Wiggins. Notably, throughout this trade, Love was spotted trolling his former teammate several times on various social media platforms.
After the Heat’s victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, Love maintained his ongoing social media offensive. Midway through the game, the Heat dealt the suspended Butler to the Warriors in a five-team transaction. Love invoked a famous movie: ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ meme this time. Love posted the footage of Andy Dufresne‘s eventual release from prison, setting a parallel with Butler’s trade.
Not only that, another Heat legend, Dwyane Wade chimed in on Love’s Instagram post. Wade hailed Love’s hilarious ‘content creation.’ He commented on the post, “Give this man a mid SEASON award for being the content king!”
Love frequently alludes to well-known films like Scarface, Casino, and Pulp Fiction. Not surprisingly, he shared a well-known Shawshank clip. Butler stated last month that he finds Love’s comedy amusing, even if it makes fun of him. The two stars share a good bond with Butler stating that ‘Love has got the better’ of him lately.
As for the trade, Josh Richardson of the Heat, Lindy Waters III of the Warriors, Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson, and a first-round draft pick are all involved. Waters from the Warriors and Richardson from the Heat will go to the Detroit Pistons.
In exchange for Wiggins, Anderson, and a protected 2025 first-round selection from the Warriors, the Utah Jazz will deal P.J. Tucker to the Heat and obtain Schroder from the Warriors.
Another former Miami Heat star chimes in on Jimmy Butler trade deal
Udonis Haslem, a legend of the Miami Heat, watched his old team go through weeks of endless Jimmy Butler drama. Given that, Butler is now on his way to the Golden State Warriors, putting an end to Haslem’s misery regarding his former side. It’s safe to say that, Haslem was one of those who was ‘pleased’ with the trade and chimed in on this matter.
“I have just been waiting to exhale, It has been mentally, emotionally, and physically draining in this period of time for everyone. So I am quite happy that we finally got it figured out, and the guys in the locker room can quiet the noise and play with a clear mind.”
Udonis Haslem said on the NBA on ESPN show
Butler was Haslem’s teammate from 2019 to 2023. The Heat lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 and the Nuggets three seasons later, but they made it to the finals twice throughout that time. Haslem doesn’t have any lingering anger for Butler, though. The veteran forward is a great match for the Warriors who are looking to win another championship in the Stephen Curry era, he added, praising his former teammate.
