Julian Marquez has had one of the most eventful weeks, one could ever imagine. He made a winning return to the octagon, after almost three years of inactivity due to a serious injury, beating Maki Pitolo via submission in the third round, at the recently concluded UFC 258. The win saw him earn the performance of the night bonus, and what’s more – he asked out ace-singer Miley Cyrus to be his valentine, at the post-fight interview.

Things then unraveled quickly, as Miley Cyrus responded to Marquez on Twitter, asking him to shave the initials MC into his chest hair. Marquez, then came up with a response, which raised quite a few eyebrows, as he took to Twitter, asking Miley to tattoo ‘Cuban Missile Crisis’ above her belly-button.

Who would have thought I would have a friend like her’

Speaking in an interview with James Lynch of Line Movement MMA, Julian Marquez was quoted as saying, “Yeah dude, she shot me a DM. We spoke and she’s cool, man. Like legitimately, this is all like, there’s nothing crazy. Everyone’s like, ‘You missed your shot.’ Actually no, I didn’t miss my shot. I have the same exact shot as I did prior. The only difference is that she knows who I am, she follows me. Like, Miley’s a friend now. Who would have thought I would have a friend (like her).” [via BJPenn.com]

He continued, “Yes, I love her. She’s amazing. Like she’s one of the greatest singers in my point of view. But like I’m not trying to date Miley. Miley’s got a bunch of stuff going on. That’s a dope friend and I’m going to keep that dope friend.” [via BJPenn.com]
