Sheamus breaks silence with a heartbreaking message after losing to Gunther in a hard-hitting match on Raw

The latest episode of Raw featured the main event match between two long-time rivals, Gunther and Sheamus. In chapter 3 of their saga, The Celtic Warrior was once again unable to defeat his toughest rival and got eliminated from the King of the Ring tournament. After suffering the battle scars of a hellacious battle, the veteran doesn’t look forward to meeting his adversary once again.
Sheamus took to X and shared a picture of himself, looking in immense pain after his match against The Ring General. His caption implied that he wouldn’t want to face Gunther anymore. In a total of three one-on-one matches between them, the Irish-born wrestler had lost all of them.
Regardless of how close he was to winning the title in his first two matches, it hurt more when the 36-year-old star tapped out in his latest match on Raw. Wrestling fans all over the world sent heartwarming wishes to him for still delivering banger matches despite just returning from a serious injury. Previously, The Celtic King thanked doctors for making his in-ring return possible.

Although getting eliminated in the first round will surely hurt his momentum, it won’t take long for Sheamus to catapult himself back into the main event scene. Having said that, it will be interesting to see in which direction The Celtic Warrior decides to go.
Gunther expressed his thoughts after a hard-fought victory over Sheamus on Raw
After removing Sheamus from his path to become the King of the Ring, The Ring General shared his thoughts on the match. With an ecstatic look on his face, he said everything went according to how he wanted as Ludwig Kaiser carried out the plan to attack The Celtic Warrior’s knee, which was set up by Gunther himself.
At one point in the match, the Irish-born wrestler slightly gained the upper hand over the former Intercontinental Champion. However, momentum soon swung in Gunther’s favor as his right-hand man brutally targeted Sheamus’ knees. Bearing pain like a true warrior, he even took off his knee pad and continued fighting. However, the 36-year-old star seized the opportunity to defeat him by applying the Boston crab to inflict more pain.

Meanwhile, after progressing to the next round, he will compete against the winner of the match between Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio. Many fans are expecting to see the highly anticipated match between him and Ilja Dragunov, especially after the latter defeated Ricochet in the first round of the tournament.
