At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Bron Breakker crushed Sheamus‘ hopes of becoming Intercontinental Champion. In an enthralling battle, Breakker took Sheamus to his limit by pulling out devastating moves. The most brutal of them all was a spear from Breakker on the outside. Sheamus attempted a high-flying move from the steel steps, only for the Intercontinental Champion to catch him in mid-air.
Looking back at the spear, The Celtic Warrior took to his X account to call it the ‘hardest’ he had ever taken in his sixteen-year WWE career. Things almost took a catastrophic turn as Sheamus’ head came very close to landing on the steel steps. This move turned out to be a significant turning point, with the former WWE Champion’s ribs getting hurt due to the spear.
Breakker capitalized on the injured area after Sheamus failed to hit a Brogue Kick. The former NXT Champion delivered a second spear and retained his title. As such, the veteran’s pursuit for the only title that eludes him continues.

Over the past few years, Sheamus has had some of the greatest Intercontinental Championship matches in WWE history. First, he took on record-breaking champion Gunther at Clash at the Castle 2022. The two engaged in a months-long feud for the title, which culminated at WrestleMania 39.
Sheamus came agonizingly close to winning the championship in a triple threat match also featuring Drew McIntyre. Since then, he’s had a few chances at ‘finishing his story.’ However, the 46-year-old star has failed to become a Grand Slam Champion. Hence, fans cannot wait to see whether Sheamus can win the Intercontinental Championship before hanging up his boots.
Sheamus poses with Jesse Ventura after Saturday Night’s Main Event
WWE Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura has been a delight for fans at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Last year, Ventura revealed that he signed a deal on all four NBC spectacles every year. This past weekend, Ventura called the action during the aforementioned Intercontinental Championship match.
Throughout the bout, Ventura tapped into his old-school way of blaming the referee. According to the legend, Sheamus lost to Bron Breakker because of the referee’s slow count. Following the event, Sheamus agreed with Ventura’s sentiments, posing alongside the former governor backstage.

Other than blaming referees, Ventura looked like he was hellbent on making the production team’s night difficult. The 73-year-old mistakenly said “WWF” instead of WWE, forcing the company to censor him. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what chaos Ventura causes when he appears at the next Saturday Night’s Main Event.
