Former World Champion Sheamus is renowned for his hard-hitting wrestling style, which has earned him numerous titles in the Stamford-based promotion. However, The Celtic Warrior has often faced criticism for the perceived danger of his moves to his opponents. Recently, the Irishman addressed these concerns surrounding his in-ring style.
In an interview with Collider, the former WWE Champion stated that his hard-hitting style is simply how he enjoys performing. He emphasized that he expects his opponents to hit him just as hard in return, although few are able to match his intensity. The 46-year-old further added that he pays no attention to criticism, as long as he isn’t genuinely injuring anyone and is staying true to what he loves doing.
The Celtic Warrior has recently been a sporadic presence on Raw. Currently, he finds himself in a feud with Ludwig Kaiser, following a series of hard-hitting matches with his friend Gunther in previous years. Additionally, the 46-year-old is set to challenge Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event in San Antonio, Texas.
Despite his hard-hitting wrestling style, the Intercontinental Championship remains the only title that has eluded Sheamus throughout his career. This year, he may set his sights on capturing the gold to finally achieve the coveted Grand Slam Champion status in WWE. It will be intriguing to see if The Celtic Warrior can accomplish this milestone in the months ahead.
Sheamus expressed an idea to face Nic Nemeth in 2025
Sheamus, a WWE legend with a career spanning over 15 years, has been part of many memorable rivalries. One of his most notable feuds was with Dolph Ziggler, a.k.a. Nic Nemeth. Following Ziggler’s release from WWE last year, he transitioned to TNA. With the recent announcement of a partnership between WWE and TNA, The Celtic Warrior has expressed his desire to work with Nemeth.
Speaking on The Masked Man Show, Sheamus praised Ziggler as one of the finest in-ring performers. He highlighted The Show-Off’s adaptability and exceptional storytelling skills, calling him a standout talent. The Celtic Warrior further expressed that if a crossover match becomes possible, he would love to face the former TNA World Champion, citing their incredible friendship and chemistry as a driving factor.
Sheamus humorously mentioned that Ziggler’s finest memories might not involve him due to his rough Brogue Kicks. Despite this, they share a strong bond outside the ring. The 46-year-old expressed positivity about the new WWE-TNA partnership, which he believes could change the trajectory of sports entertainment. He remains excited about the potential crossover matches this deal could bring.
