The NFL Combine is in session and teams have representatives in Indianapolis looking at players who can help improve their roster. Quarterbacks draw the most attention and they are waiting for Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward to show off their skills.

But Sanders will not throw at the NFL Combine. He believes there is four years of game tape for scouts to look at and is not going to engage in throwing to random receivers. This brought out some negative reactions from a section of the media.

They believe the Colorado Buffaloes star QB was showing off a negative attitude and was making a huge mistake not throwing in front of NFL scouts. This negative narrative came to his attention, and he called out those that were spewing the discourse.

On the other hand, other QBs did throw at the NFL combine. One of them was Will Howard, fresh after winning the CFP National Championship with Ohio State. His workout, though, did not go as planned as he could not connect with receivers.

This brought out a different discourse with some social media outlets claiming the workout was one of the worst in Combine history. Watching this develop, Shedeur Sanders took to his X account to write this-

I don’t understand y’all hating on Will Howard. He just won a natty. It’s hard to throw to WR’s that you don’t know, everyone run routes different!

Shedeur Sanders wrote

He essentially confirmed his own decision of not throwing at the NFL combine. Will Howard’s tough day on the field could be a one off. Sanders believes him winning the championship and his performances in college is all the discourse NFL teams need to look at.

Shedeur Sanders sent that message from the NFL Combine. All he has done so far was arrive for interviews where all the reporters at Indianapolis crowded around him to ask questions. Today, he was on the field, but not to throw or workout as he has stated previously.

Rather, he was there to support his Colorado Buffaloes teammates. Wide receivers Jimmy Horn Jr. and LaJohntay Wester completed their drills today. The 23-year-old QB was asked by NFL Network’s Stacey Dales on why he was there during the WR drills.

It’s about the family. We’ve got to support each other, we’ve got to be there for each other. Whenever he and LaJohntay Wester made the decision to come to Colorado, they was there for me, so you know I had to support them through it all.

Cameras captured the star QB looking on with a smile on his face as his teammates went through their motions. This moment could come to the attention of teams. He displayed a character which many coaches generally like to have on their roster.
