With just two games to go, Shedeur Sanders is likely staring at possibly playing his last two games as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.

With Deshaun Watson scheduled to resume his role as this team’s de facto top signal caller, the rookie is probably accepting the fact that he will have to sit behind the 30-year-old. However, there is still hope that some good performances and some outside luck could keep the Colorado Buffaloes star in the position he is in.

Even though the Browns have been losing, and Sanders threw six interceptions in his last three games, those who have trolled or criticized him are not pinning the blame on the 5th-round pick.

That opinion is also shared among Browns coaches and players. On that note, reporters at the team’s media facilities asked Shedeur Sanders if the franchise has displayed any commitment towards playing him next season.

I don’t think it’s about feeling a commitment. It’s about controlling what you can control as a person, as a player. I have to do my part and get some wins. I have to do my part and play clean football. The rest isn’t in my hands.

Shedeur Sanders replied

The Texas native added that he cannot forgo the present by thinking about a future that he has no control over. Sanders wants to do what he can, and that is to place his team in winning positions. Then, the rest could pan out.

Shedeur Sanders appreciative of opportunity with Browns

As conversations focused on how Shedeur Sanders has subtly silenced his doubters, reporters asked him what he has learned about his growth after his horrendous debut against the Baltimore Ravens.

I like how everything went because it’s a great building blocks that I’m able to learn from, when it comes to life and me being a part of an organization. When I look back, I’m super appreciative that everything happened the way it did.

Shedeur Sanders said

The son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders reiterated that the Ravens game taught him valuable lessons on adversity and experience. Since then, he claimed that he has been gaining more with every passing game.

He believes that the organization placing its trust in him enabled him to grow at a faster pace than many had hoped for. That is why he wants to enjoy every moment he has and is appreciative of what the Browns have allowed him to do.

Mike Tomlin has high praise for Shedeur Sanders ahead of clash

One of the ways Shedeur Sanders can continue to impress both the Browns as well as those watching his every move is to do a good job against the resurgent Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is doing a really good job. He is growing with each week… I think it’s always cool when you growing with company.

Mike Tomlin said to reporters

This was some high praise coming from someone who has orchestrated his team to 19 straight seasons of winning football. Mike Tomlin believes Sanders’ growth has a lot to do with whom he is playing with.

The 53-year-old singled out how the rookie quarterback has been working well with the young players on his team. He spoke at length about how Sanders connects well with Harold Fannin Jr., Isaiah Bond, and the injured Quinshon Judkins.

This opinion could not be truer, as even though the Colorado star does connect with the veteran players, he has leaned more and more on his fellow draft classmen, as it seems he has a closer bond with them.

It is clear that he understands their tendencies a lot more than someone like Jerry Jeudy. The latter’s sideline rant aside, this chemistry is since Shedeur Sanders has spent a lot of time practicing with his fellow rookies than with the first team.
