Shedeur Sanders has been quietly sitting as the third option quarterback and observing how his colleagues go about their business playing for the Cleveland Browns.
After an embarrassing draft, he wound up with the franchise as their fifth-round pick. Even though he performed well in his preseason debut, his play in the final game saw him drop to QB3.
Some felt the franchise intentionally sabotaged his final preseason game and purposely made him sit behind to learn the game. It might have been an effort to first give veteran QB Joe Flacco and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel their chance before turning to him.
Deion Sanders believes his son will get his chance this season. He had a theory in mind, but was not willing to divulge, especially after all the negative attention they received over the offseason.
After three games, the Browns find themselves 1-3 and are scoring at an average of just 15.3 points per game. It is just that their top-of-the-line defense has kept them in the hunt so far.
So far, even though Flacco has been abysmal, there have been no rumblings about a need for a change at quarterback. But the Colorado star believes he can perform much better.
I know if you see the quarterback play in the league right now, I know I’m capable of doing better than that.

It seems the 23-year-old is confident that he can do a better job than most of the quarterbacks in the league. His words suggest he wants to be out there leading the Browns and show his true capabilities.
Shedeur Sanders is ready to play ‘right now’
Shedeur Sanders has so far helmed the scout team for the Cleveland Browns, and he believes that has helped him stay in top shape and form, ready to play immediately.

I don’t think playing, not playing is in my hands. Based on the situation, if things happen and things turn out where I play, then I’ll be out there ready to play. See, I’m ready to play right now.
Shedeur Sanders said
The Texas native understands it is the coach’s decision whether he plays. He also understands that he was named QB3 for a reason, and it is up to him to elevate himself and be ready.
Sanders believes he is ready right now and can do his job admirably if given the chance to lead the Browns. He is high on confidence and is probably making his case to play in a regular-season game.

The Browns will next face the Detroit Lions and four other teams before their Week 9 bye. It could be possible that poor performances in those games might force the team to agree to a change.
Shedeur Sanders had revealed he was happy leading scout team
This change in his stance might cause some ears to perk up, as up until a few days ago, Shedeur Sanders was happy leading the scout team against the starters.
I have six games a week. I’m happy rather than having one game a week on weekends. The scout team, we all know that every day is game day. We definitely approach everything in that fashion.
Shedeur Sanders told Mary Kay Cabot
The quarterback added that the receivers on his scout team were explosive and were just waiting for their opportunity. He then thanked his scout team members, showing his gratitude towards them.

If this were his attitude 5 days ago, something must have changed in his demeanor to believe he warrants a chance to prove himself as the starting QB of this franchise. Maybe what he saw happening around the NFL gave him the confidence to speak up.
