The Cleveland Browns would prefer that Shedeur Sanders keep his adventurous attitude limited to the gridiron after the rookie quarterback received a speeding ticket. Reports from Strongsville police revealed that Sanders was driving over 100 mph in a 60-mph zone.

Around midnight on Tuesday, the Strongsville highway police stopped Sanders on 71 North for driving 41 mph faster than the designated speed limit. Judy Converse of the Ohio Traffic Safety Office stated, “There is no excuse for extreme speeds.”

According to FOX 8, the Ohio State Highway Patrol gave speeding tickets to over 83,000 people for exceeding the limit by 20 mph and 3,700 people for crossing 100 mph last year.

The news about Sanders receiving a ticket comes on the back of another infamous incident in 2021 involving former Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III.

Ruggs rear-ended another car at high speeds (156 mph) in Spring Valley, just outside Vegas. Unlike Sanders, Ruggs wasn’t very lucky. His recklessness took the life of a girl and her dog. Police investigation found Ruggs driving under the influence.

The Raiders released him shortly after the accident. After the hearing, the judge ordered Ruggs to be placed at High Desert State Prison in Nevada. He was recently given special permission to speak at the ‘Hope for Prisoners’ in the Billy Walters Center for Second Chances in Las Vegas.

Last year, the Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver Rashee Rice rammed his Lamborghini Urus into another car on Dallas’ North Central Expressway. The victims of the crash escaped with bruises, but Rice remained AWOL before turning himself in to the authorities. The NFL committee recently said it will wait until the court’s verdict to announce Rice’s punishment.

Veteran Cleveland radio host slammed the Browns coaching team for not giving Shedeur Sanders enough first-team reps

Sanders’ training camp began with much expectation. As days progressed, the Colorado graduate appears to have captured the eyes of the NFL analysts with his accurate passes.

However, one issue that ESPN Cleveland Radio host Tony Rizzo pointed out is that Sanders hasn’t taken any reps with the first team. Meanwhile, fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel threw a handful, while Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett practiced the most with Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku. Rizzo doesn’t understand the methodology behind Kevin Stefanski’s approach.

I’m not going to worry about it anymore. I know my guy is the best quarterback [because] I think he’s better than Kenny Pickett or will be [but] I [definitely] think he’ll be better than Dillon Gabriel. Whether or not he’s a Super Bowl MVP, I doubt very much. I’m going to leave Joe Flacco out of this one. But I think [Sander] is the best in camp.

Tony Rizzo said

Even FOX Sports analyst Colin Cowherd believes Sanders has shown him enough to get the starting job in week one.

You can keep selling me on Pickett, you can keep selling me on Dillon Gabriel. Now Flacco, I buy… I think he’s going to win the starting job initially, but I’m calling it for Shedeur.

Shedeur Sanders undeniably has the pedigree to be a starter in the NFL despite falling to the fifth round. He was electric in his final year of college. Despite taking 42 sacks, Sanders completed 353 passes (74% pass completion) for 4134 yards and 37 touchdowns, winning the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award.
