Shedeur Sanders is finally going to get a chance to prove himself after suffering a string of miseries, first in the draft, and then having to wait as the official third string quarterback of the Cleveland Browns.

Some would err on the side of caution, as his second half performance in his debut (Week 11 fixture against the Baltimore Ravens) proved he needs a lot of time and practice to get comfortable at this level.

Others blamed head coach Kevin Stefanski for not allowing his fifth round pick to get some reps with the 1st team offensive unit. That has been resolved as the Colorado Buffaloes star practiced this week with them.

The problem that Shedeur Sanders faces is that Stefanski has already reiterated that whenever starting QB Dillon Gabriel clears the concussion protocol, he would replace his backup.

This means the 23-year-old has just one game to prove his worth. Super Bowl champion brothers Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce picked up this topic while on their highly successful podcast, New Heights.

The retired center was ecstatic that Sanders was going to get a lot of reps with the 1st team, which should improve his confidence. The three-time Super Bowl winner was pumping his fist while saying that, happy that the son of Deion Sanders was finally going to get a chance to shine.

After suggesting in the past that the Texas native should be the starting quarterback for the Browns, Travis Kelce was finally going to see him get an opportunity.

Rob Gronkowski believes Shedeur Sanders will cement QB1 status

Another Super Bowl champion, Rob Gronkowski, was speaking with Kay Adams on her show when the latter asked if Shedeur Sanders can win the starting job.

You can’t ask for a better opportunity to have your first career start. It’s going to the Raiders, the worst team in the NFL. I think he gets a win, and I think he stays consistent, and he remains the starting QB of the Cleveland Browns.

Rob Gronkowski said

The Gronk believes that if Sanders plays well, he could end up continuing as the starting quarterback. This makes it three different Super Bowl champions who believe the rookie has the talent to succeed.

The 4-time Super Bowl champion hopes the Colorado star takes advantage of the opportunity of playing the worst team in the league and stakes his claim as a better prospect than Dillon Gabriel.

Like Jason and Travis Kelce, he too understands how Sanders’ second half against the Ravens did not do him favors. Therefore, he should be twice as motivated to make sure this time it goes well.

Raiders’ Maxx Crosby will look to make Shedeur Sanders uncomfortable

The Las Vegas Raiders have an identical 2-8 record as the Cleveland Browns. As it will be a battle of the minnows, the likes of Maxx Crosby and his defense will be happy that they will face a QB making his debut as a starter.

Every QB, you’ve got to make him uncomfortable if you want to have success as a defense. We’ve got to get after him, and we plan on doing that.

Maxx Crosby told reporters

The star pass rusher reiterated that he has a good relationship with Shedeur Sanders. However, that will not stop him from going after the QB who could have been his teammate.

Crosby and his team will be waiting for the Browns star to lead his team out on their field on Sunday. The last thing they would want is for a rookie QB getting his first start to defeat them in front of their home fans.
