As per the latest mock drafts, Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to be the first pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. That could mean either the college superstar could join commissioner Roger Goodell with either a New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders or possibly a Cleveland Browns jersey next year.
His father, the great Deion Sanders, had made it clear that he would interfere if the wrong franchise drafted him. But with the way the 2024 NFL season has transpired, the Giants are possibly one of the franchises he could land on.
Those rumors also received some fuel when Giants GM Joe Schoen visited the Colorado Buffaloes practice facilities. During that visit, Schoen and his front office staff spoke with coach Prime, who was all smiles the entire time he talked to them.
It could indicate that Deion Sanders is ok with the idea of the New York Giants drafting his son. The combination of a hungry franchise and the massive Big Apple market being too good to pass over. Now it seems New York fans also probably want that to happen.

The massive ovation he received could indicate that New York fans are probably happy with the idea of Sanders leading Big Blue. However, the New York Knicks’ close loss at home quickly silenced the roars, ending their NBA Cup run.
Shedeur Sanders’ fit with Giants, Raiders
Shedeur Sanders could go to either the Giants, Raiders or Browns. Currently, they are the teams among the bottom eight that need a quarterback next season. The Cleveland Browns, though, may not be in the race as they still have Deshaun Watson on their roster.
That leaves the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders as two teams that could go for the 22-year-old. The Raiders have a decent defense and an improving offensive line along with a stud tight end in Brock Bowers.
But they lack a few pieces and will likely look to fill some spots in the draft and free agency. They will be armed with approximately $111 million in cap space, giving them the arsenal to go after prized free agents. That and the Las Vegas market could tempt the Sanders family to be closer to each other.
However, the market becomes much bigger when the Big Apple comes to the fore. New York will also give Shedeur Sanders access to the celebrity world that may not happen in the desert. His interests in those areas might draw his attention.
Couple with a stud defense and an offense needing a few of pieces to explode, the quarterback could tilt towards being a part of something that is rare. Currently, the Giants stand to gain everything from tanking the rest of the season.
