The perks of being the son of a Super Bowl champion who transitioned to college football to coach his son’s team specifically is having a personal guide and mentor throughout the journey of pursuing football. As Shedeur Sanders approaches his anticipated NFL debut in 2025, he is also nearing the end of his coach-quarterback dynamic with his father, Deion Sanders. However, the young quarterback appears genuinely looking forward to it.
Shedeur is preparing to enter the highly competitive and professional realm of American football. While his relationship with his father, Deion, will always remain strong, their professional relationship is set to conclude after nine long years.
However, the Colorado Buffaloes senior quarterback is not disheartened by this change; rather, he is early anticipating applying everything he has learned from his father to establish his own identity in the NFL. In the latest edition of his 2Legendary podcast, Sanders opened up about parting ways with Coach Prime next season, sharing that he isn’t viewing it from an emotional perspective.
“I’m gonna be able to adjust cause he gave me all the stones and everything that I need… to approach any challenge that comes in life,” said Sanders, responding to a fan’s question about his feelings for not going to be coached Deion next season.

Shedeur Sanders remains optimistic despite draft projection drop
Shedeur’s draft projection heavily tumbled after the New York Giants– who were expected to acquire him using the No. 1 draft pick lost it and the Tennessee Titans earned the top draft spot. However, Shedeur isn’t too worried about potentially not starting his career as the first overall pick.
Unfazed by his 2025 NFL draft projections, Shedeur confidently stated that he is certain he will find a fitting opportunity in the NFL. He believes that his successful college football season has sufficiently demonstrated his capabilities.
