Despite the wide receiver’s best efforts to defend his fiancee, their relationship has faced intense scrutiny, leading to significant backlash directed at her.
The chatters surrounding her reactions during his last regular season game and the Heisman Trophy ceremony have not subsided, when certain clips from her past went viral on social media, making fans question her loyalty towards the Colorado two-way superstar. The backlash has been so overwhelming that Hunter’s teammate and close friend Shedeur Sanders felt compelled to speak out against the critics.

Sanders’ outburst came shortly after the Colorado wideout’s social media account was observed to be deleted/deactivated on X over the weekend. It happened after his fiancee’s clips of twerking at a party ignited furious debates on the internet to such a point, where fans have been asking him to break up with Lenee.

Travis Hunter stands up for fiancee amid intense backlash
Before deactivating or deleting his account to have some moment of peace, the 2024 Heisman winner defended his girl against the backlash for her demeanor when his name was announced for the prestigious award. He highlighted how adversely the hatred has been affecting him and Lenee.
Y’all hate on me, then you go hate on my girl. If she’s hurting, I’m hurting. I don’t want her to go to sleep sad. It’s hard on me because I can’t even help her.
Travis Hunter said during a Twitch live-stream
Over the past month, Lenee has been subjected to numerous derogatory labels from the fans, with terms like “gold-digger” and “disloyal” being among the most prominent. She also addressed the backlash with teary eyes, stating the only reason she is with Hunter is for who he is as a person, not for his money or fame.
