Jayden Daniels is the most successful name coming out of the Class of 2024 for leading the Washington Commanders to the NFC Championship Game in his rookie season. As the Class of 2025 prepares for its debut, Daniels ought to be the ideal season one can aspire for. With the competition down to two names: Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, a sports commentator believes the former has more chances of achieving it. 

Being the top two quarterback prospects of the upcoming NFL Draft, the competition between Sanders and Ward is intensifying with each passing week. Although Ward is projected to have a higher pick than Sanders, success in the NFL isn’t guaranteed by the draft pick. And that’s the ideology Rich Eisen is prompting.

An intriguing debate was instigated on the recent edition of the Rich Eisen Show, evaluating which quarterback between Sanders and Ward has the best odds at replicating Daniels’ historic rookie season. Eisen advocated for the Colorado senior quarterback over Ward and Jaxson Dart because he had met the young star.

Rich Eisen asserted

Though Eisen was definitely not subtle with his favoritism, it’s just one man’s opinion. Many believe it’s unlikely for both Ward and Sanders to replicate the iconic performance of Daniels throughout his debut season, recording the most offensive yards by a rookie in the history of the league that earned him the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. 

Speaking of the NFL Draft, Sanders’ projection was found to decrease beyond the top-five picks. However, he swiftly gave rest to those speculations after visiting the Cleveland Browns with the second overall pick. After the franchise’s failure with Deshaun Watson, they are searching for a long-term franchise quarterback.

With his good accuracy, arm strength, and ability to revitalize underperforming programs, Sanders can bring the stability that the Browns have been craving for years. However, they are not the only potential landing place for him. 

Podcaster Gillie Da Kid has recently advocated Sanders’ name for the first overall pick over the Miami Hurricanes star. Highlighting how Sanders transformed the worst FBS school in college football to the rankings of the top 25 within just two years, he supported Sanders to land in Tennessee Titans with the No. 1 draft pick.
