Since the day EA Sports announced the most-awaited college football series, one major question that swirled around everyone’s mind was about the names of players to be featured on its cover. While it was given that names such as Travis Hunter, Quinn Ewers, and Jalen Milroe would sure make it, one question mark remains hovering over one specific player– Shedeur Sanders.
Now it appears the question has been answered as the EA Sports College Football ‘25 cover has been officially released and there’s no glimpse of Sanders in it. They focused on three specific names on the cover page, while three were focused at a distance but none were on Colorado Buffaloes’ jersey number 2.
On Friday, EA Sports released the deluxe edition cover along with its promotional image, featuring Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Hunter, and Evers in the center, while Milroe, Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins and Carson Beck at the distance.
Even though Sanders is projected to be the top pick in the 2025 NFL draft after his father postponed his draft declaration by a year earlier in 2024. As per DraftKings Sportsbook, Sanders is the favorite to be the No. 1 pick however, still, EA Sports chose to go forward with his teammate, Hunter.
Interestingly, as per college football licensing insider Matt Brown of Extra Points, EA Sports will release multiple covers of the game series so if Sanders didn’t feature in one, doesn’t mean he wouldn’t get his chance to shine.
Fans react to EA Sports snubbing Shedeur Sanders from cover
However, since the release of the BIG12 cover, fans are focusing on how Sanders was snubbed of the chance while being projected to be the No. 1 pick in 2025– making the quarterback trending on social media. It retrieved wild reactions from fans as most of them pocked fun of the quarterback saying he is a mid-player and EA Sports must have forgotten about him.
“Don’t remember him, must be very mid,” wrote one fan, while another wrote, “Nobody is upset lol.” Here are some of the fan reactions:
They mocked the tweet by Dov Kleiman about fans being upset about how Sanders was snubbed off the cover, saying the only people who are upset by it are the quarterback himself and his father, Deion Sanders. It appears Shedeur’s blunt and outspoken online image has cost him the love and support from fans.
