There are teams that Deion Sanders doesn’t want his son to play for and the recent admission by Mel Kiper Jr could place him in one of those teams – The New York Jets. The Jets have been one of the worst teams in the NFL, if not for all of the major American sports leagues.

The New York Jets haven’t qualified for the playoffs since the AFC Championship loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010. Shedeur Sanders, the said son of Coach Prime, didn’t even reach two digits of age back then. The Jets have tried and tested many quarterbacks and coaching in the short term, including bringing a four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay.

Aaron Rodgers was supposed to help them out of this trudge, however, after two seasons, the Jets have decided not to move forward with the quarterback. They will now look forward to the NFL Draft or free agency once again and cross their fingers hoping they land the one who will break the curse.

Mel Kiper Jr, the famed analyst revealed his latest mock draft in which Sanders is projected to be picked by the Jets at number seven. The mock draft suggests that the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback has fumbled out of the top five after the Buffs ended the season not so fashionable after starting hot. The January list by Mel Kiper had the quarterback at No.3 going for the New York Giants.

Sanders would elevate this New York team that was near the bottom of the league in most passing metrics this past season and allow it to build around his rookie contract. The youthful combination of Sanders, receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall could do some damage. (By the way, Sanders won’t be throwing in Indianapolis this week as he sits out the workouts.)

In a similar fashion, another analyst, Gennaro Filice of the NFL.com also suggested that the New York Jets are expected to draft Shedeur Sanders. However, in Filce’s mock draft, the Jets are shown trading two places up, swapping with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the fifth spot.

Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Abdul Carter as first overall for the Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans, who finished the season as the worst-performing team, were long projected to look for a quarterback to replace Will Levis. In a recent interview, the Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi actually admitted that they are going to bring in new quarterbacks to solidify the position.

However, as per the latest mock drafts, the Titans are swinging toward Penn State OLB Abdul Carter rather than Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders in the top position for the Titans.

The latest mock draft that launched on Tuesday looks as follows

  • No. 1, Tennessee Titans: Abdul Carter, OLB, Penn State
  • No. 2, Cleveland Browns: Cam Ward, QB, Miami
  • No. 3, New York Giants: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
  • No. 4, New England Patriots: Will Campbell, OT, LSU
  • No. 5, Jacksonville Jaguars: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
  • No. 6., Las Vegas Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
  • No. 7., New York Jets, Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
  • No. 8., Carolina Panthers, Jalon Walker, LB, Georgia

The first round is expected to only see two quarterbacks, amid concerns about the lack of quarterbacks in the upcoming draft class. Names like Will Howard, Quinn Ewers, and Jalen Milroe are spotted in the next few rounds.
