Shedeur Sanders is shaping up to be one of the most media-ready players in this year’s draft class. Having grown up around the press and with hundreds of interviews under his belt, Sanders knows when he is being baited or being asked a twisted question.

Shedeur’s father, Deion Sanders, made news earlier this week after he did not report to the football camps in Boulder, Colorado. The reason for Coach Prime’s absence was an ‘unspecified illness’ as per ESPN. This led to an outburst of concerns surrounding his health, with fans worried.

Subsequently, his son Deion Sanders Jr. posted a live stream where he revealed that Prime was resting at his Texas residence, and that he was doing well. Fortunately, the head coach was able to resume his duties yesterday. But this did not stop one reporter from attempting to find out what was going on with his father’s health.

Mary Kay Cabot, who actively covers the Cleveland Browns, attempted to ask Shedeur Sanders about the health of his father by bringing up his appearance on a podcast. However, Shedeur understood the point of the question and immediately took over.

I don’t know what’s going on. So, I’m here not to talk about pops and them. I’m here for the quarterback of the Cleveland Browns…I’m focused, I’m focused on learning this playbook and everything I gotta do to be the most successful quarterback and be the best teammate that I can be. Outside of that, I don’t really no thoughts or you know really opinions on anything outside this game.

The 57-year-old is back coaching the Colorado Buffaloes while his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, make their best efforts to be a part of an NFL roster this season. Despite the uncertainty of his role in the final 53-man squad, Shedeur Sanders has continued to thrive in the Cleveland Browns’ practices. Positive things are being said about his game, and head coach Kevin Stefanski has praised his work ethic.

While Shedeur Sanders continues to put his head down and work for the top spot, he is competing against the likes of Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett. There has been mixed chatter surrounding Sanders’ future in Cleveland. Initially, it was said that Sanders may end up failing to secure a spot on the roster, but now he has begun to earn his stripes and is steadily making a case to be a top contender for the starter’s role.

Shedeur Sanders is just looking for an opportunity and is confident that he will make the most of it when he gets it. His college numbers are a testament that Shedeur has the talent; all he needs is the right system and the right opportunity.

It will be interesting to see which direction Cleveland goes in because they have multiple options to pick from. The team has to take into account the possibility of Deshaun Watson returning mid-season and figure out if he will immediately be starting or if the Browns hope to keep him at bay for the whole season.
