Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders expected a solid team to draft him in the first round after his recent slide.

Shedeur Sanders ended his collegiate career with the view that he would be one of the top picks in this year’s NFL Draft. The Colorado Buffaloes quarterback kept saying that he was good enough to go No. 1 overall.
Furthermore, his father, Deion Sanders, had made it clear that his son would go to a program that would help him get the best out of his abilities. After the Tennessee Titans landed with the No. 1 overall pick, many felt the Sanders’ would use their power to avoid going to that franchise.
They preferred a bigger market, such as New York or Las Vegas, where he could thrive as an up and coming sporting superstar. Giants GM Joe Schoen’s visiting a Buffaloes practice gave further proof to those rumors.
Then, a series of claims from football executives started that the quarterback projected an arrogant and entitled attitude. They claimed he was dictating what he would do in an offense instead of how coaches wanted him to play.
With his draft stock sliding, the latest mock drafts pegged him going to the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21. However, the Steelers went the defensive tackle route. Soon after that, Sanders’ draft party received some major uplifting news when they learned that the New York Giants traded with the Houston Rockets for the No. 26 pick.
They believed he was headed to the Big Apple. But as soon as Commissioner Roger Goodell read the name Jaxson Dart, those smiles vanished, and the QB looked distraught. Then, as the final six picks were announced, it dawned upon everyone that teams had skipped on Shedeur Sanders in the first round.
Fans lose their minds watching Shedeur Sanders sliding out of the first round
Football fans kept receipts of all the noise the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback and his father made during this past season. Now all that noise has vanished along with Deion Sanders’ alleged power-broking abilities.
Shedeur Sanders will now wait a full day to see who selects him in the second round. But that did not stop fans from taking shots at the 23-year-old. They believe his entitled approach has contributed to this slide. Fans took to social media to talk about this development. Examples of those comments are below.

This ain't the NBA.
NFL teams won't put up with as much nonsense.

He should stop digging holes for himself regardless of how horrible a day it was for him. Sometimes less is more and move on to the next day.

Flaunts a $100k chain inside of a shrine-room he made for himself.
Pulls up to play a sport for a mid college in Colorado in $500k cars.
Wonders why every GM thinks he’s a fucking tool.
Imagine getting your jersey retired at your college and not going in the first round.. sheesh

Fans believe NFL teams made it clear they do not want to take the pressure of having Sanders as their lead quarterback. All the attention would be on him, and teams might be pressurized to play him, just to stay on the positive side of news stories.
Will the Cleveland Browns pull of a Draft Day script with Shedeur Sanders?
Up until yesterday, the Cleveland Browns held the No. 2 overall pick. After helping the Jacksonville Jaguars land Travis Hunter with that pick, they picked defensive tackle Mason Graham. They also received the No. 36 pick in that trade as well as next year’s 1st round pick.

Now the Browns hold the first and fourth picks in the second round. They know the Tennessee Titans now have two QB prospects, which means they might not bother picking another. The Houston Texans at No. 34 also do not need a QB.
This places the Browns in a brilliant position. They can draft one of the top available receivers to supplement their squad with the first pick tomorrow. Then they can draft Shedeur Sanders with the fourth pick in the second round.
That way, they would have secured three positions of need in one go. They can give Sanders time to develop behind Joe Flacco and possibly Deshaun Watson, alleviating all the pressure in the hope that he develops.
At the same time, if the Buffaloes QB continues to stay with his entitled character, they will only fumble on one second-round pick. They still have an extra first-rounder next year to fix that. They are in a win-win situation. But it all depends on whether they believe Sanders is good enough to be a part of their team.
