Shedeur Sanders, the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback and one of the top prospects for the upcoming NFL Draft, is embracing the spotlight of his success. With his father, Deion Sanders, as both coach and mentor, Shedeur has faced immense scrutiny and expectations.
Shedeur Sanders, who considers himself to be the generational talent the Tennessee Titans management was referring to, is one of the big names in the upcoming NFL Draft. He joins the ranks of Travis Hunter, the Buffs’ double-threat player, and Cam Ward as one of the potential top three picks in April.
Widely regarded as one of the top two quarterbacks in this year’s draft class alongside Cam Ward of Miami, Shedeur’s stock soared after leading Colorado to a 9-4 season and an Alamo Bowl appearance. While the Buffaloes fell to BYU, Shedeur’s stellar season cemented his reputation as a future NFL star.
For a better part of last year, it was expected that Deion Sanders would potentially look at a chance in the professional leagues – primarily associated with the Dallas Cowboys. However, the Cowboys have shut down the rumors by hiring Brian Schottenheimer.
In a recent media appearance, Shedeur Sanders opened up about his father’s role in his development as a player. He was unapologetic and confident while praising his father for being there.

Deion Sanders’ influence is undeniable, but Shedeur has carved his path. His poise under pressure and relentless dedication reflect not just his father’s teachings but his drive for greatness. Shedeur Sanders’ journey is about more than a famous name—it’s about talent, heart, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Shedeur Sanders skips out on Shrine Bowl on teams’ request
The Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants—holders of the top three picks in the upcoming NFL Draft—appear to have a vested interest in keeping former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders off the field this week in Frisco, Texas.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Charles McDonald, these teams reportedly requested Sanders to forgo practice at the East-West Shrine Bowl. ESPN’s Turron Davenport confirmed that while Sanders is attending the event, he will not participate in on-field workouts after meeting with representatives from the Titans, Browns, and Giants on Friday.
McDonald revealed that Sanders had been “planning to play up until yesterday,” before discussions with team executives influenced his decision. ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi further reported that Sanders has already held talks with all three franchises.

The Titans will select first, followed by the Browns and Giants, when the NFL Draft takes place in Green Bay this April. According to Davenport, Titans coach Brian Callahan praised Sanders after the meeting. Sanders was also seen interacting with Giants leadership as reported by DNVR Buffs and CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell.
The Giants leadership included head coach Brian Daboll, general manager Joe Schoen, and assistant general manager Brandon Brown on Saturday. Sanders reportedly stated he was happy to meet with the different teams, further solidifying his reputation as a top prospect for the upcoming draft.
