- Cleveland Browns are exploring quarterback options in the upcoming NFL Draft despite having Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson.
- Mel Kiper Jr. defended Shedeur Sanders, stating the Browns don't need to consider Ty Simpson as a QB option.
- Shedeur Sanders is actively training to compete for the starting quarterback position during the upcoming training camp.
With this year’s NFL Draft fast approaching, there are rumors that the Cleveland Browns might be interested in one of the quarterbacks, such as Ty Simpson, Carson Beck, and others, even though they have Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson leading the unit.
The franchise’s two QBs are going to battle for the starting job. While the latter’s experience and past accomplishments, along with his massive salary, give him an edge, the rookie’s ability to galvanize the squad was a major talking point.
However, the organization is not stopping itself from seeking additional options, and GM Andrew Berry has openly acknowledged that they will look at the draft and free agency.
In the latter, all they have done so far is to retool their offensive line. With not much interest in the remaining options at quarterback, analysts expect the Browns to look at the options in the draft. Ty Simpson has become an enigma on ESPN, with Dan Orlovsky feeling the heat after he positioned the Alabama signal caller over consensus No. 1 prospect Fernando Mendoza.
While talking to Mel Kiper Jr. about potential destinations for Simson, draft specialist Field Yates suggested that even the Cleveland Browns would be interested. Hearing this, the veteran analyst said this:
The Browns don’t have to worry about Ty Simpson. They got a better QB than Ty Simpson in Shedeur Sanders. Don’t go there.

The 65-year-old was seemingly irked by his colleague suggesting the Browns should look at Ty Simpson. He felt that having Shedeur Sanders, they do not need to look at another QB.
Former QB trolls his colleagues for bringing Shedeur Sanders into Ty Simpson debate
Ty Simpson has been a hot topic on the network, and many are scrambling to help Dan Orlovsky save face. However, from Mel Kiper Jr.’s reaction, it is evident that not many in the same office agree with their colleague’s opinion about the Crimson Tide star.
So much so that it irked the analyst enough to warn Field Yates not to bring Sanders into the discussion, as he has always maintained that the Colorado Buffaloes star is massively underrated.
It was just a matter of time before Shedeur Sanders got brought into the Ty Simpson debate….

The former quarterback now works for ESPN after being let go from FS1 after the Joy Taylor-Emmanuel Acho scandal. He believes that this indirect comparison was bound to happen, as discussions about Shedeur Sanders usually dominate the network.

However, it seems he, too, is not sure if conversations about the Browns looking at Simpson should be brought up, especially when the Buffalo alum has proved to be their next best option.
Shedeur Sanders has continued his workout in the offseason
It will be the middle of June when Shedeur Sanders returns to work in an official capacity for the Cleveland Browns. He will be looking to steal that QB1 job for himself when mandatory training camp starts.

At this stage, many players start their workouts, while others take it easy for at least until after the draft, where they know if their respective teams have drafted players to contend for their jobs.
But Sanders is not waiting, and a video clip shared on social media shows the 24-year-old quarterback hard at work, burning his muscles to get in and stay in shape.

The Texas native will have his work cut out for him battling against Deshaun Watson’s experience. Therefore, the only way he can overcome that is to stay in shape and do whatever the new head coach, Todd Monken, wants him to do.
