WWE is a global franchise and a titan in the professional wrestling industry. Therefore, it is a dream for any star to make their way to the company. Recently, Shelton Benjamin expressed his interest in working with WWE once again, even after being released in 2023.

Speaking on the Daily Star, Shelton Benjamin stated that he admires the promotion abundantly. He expressed that if WWE approached him, he wouldn’t hesitate to make a return once again. In fact, he went on to describe the WWE as a huge marketing company where one can explore the heights of their own personal brands.

I think I'd be a fool to not look at the opportunity. If they ask me to come back, I would definitely go back. I would be a fool not to. They are the biggest company in the world, you get the most exposure. You can really expand your own personal brand there.

However, Benjamin also said that if a person wants to work in WWE, they should leave their “feelings” out of the way. More importantly, he said that he is not trying to go back to WWE at the moment. The multi-time champion has had two runs in the company. He joined the promotion in 2000 and went on to win multiple championships in the promotion.

The former Intercontinental Champion returned to WWE in 2017. He had a memorable stint with Bobby Lashley under the Hurt Business. Benjamin went on to become Tag Team Champion with Cedric Alexander. However, in 2023, he was released by WWE due to budget cuts following the merger with the UFC.

Shelton Benjamin has been in the world of professional wrestling for over two decades. From being a young champion to a respected veteran, he has done it all. Now, the Gold Standard has expressed his desire for a post-WWE run.

Speaking on the Daily Star (via Wrestlezone), he stated that he would like to embark on another championship run. Benjamin revealed that he has no plans to hang up his boots yet. However, he wishes to mold younger talent and shape the future of professional wrestling as well. The former WWE star considers it a responsibility to be one of the greatest performers of all time.

Still want to go out there and perform, I still want to have fun. I still want to win championships. Still want to do a whole lot of things, but I also understand that at this point in my career, not that I’m about to hang up anytime soon.

The World’s Greatest Athlete has a Hall of Fame-worthy career. Therefore, it is going to be interesting to see if he ever makes his return to the company and in what capacity. There were some solid rumors of him joining sides with AEW, which quickly evaporated.
