Shilo Sanders bizarrely compares himself with Donald Trump in light of poor Shrine Bowl reviews: “They do that to our president”
Former Colorado safety Shilo Sanders feels he's criticized just for the sake of criticism, much like President Donald Trump.

Shilo Sanders is the less glamorous of the Sanders brothers. While Shedeur is rated as one of the best quarterback prospects, scouts and draft analysts project his older brother as a day-three pick, but that has never stopped the former Colorado safety from staying away from the limelight.
Shilo targeted the Shrine Bowl as his first step to prove doubters wrong. The news from Arlington wasn’t promising. Sanders reportedly struggled during the Shrine Bowl practice in front of several NFL brass, leading to his draft stock plummeting rapidly.
The 24-year-old redeemed himself during the East-West Shrine Bowl game. After NFL.com’s draft analyst Chad Reuter gave Shilo an honorable mention in his list of standout Shrine Bowl players, Sanders showed off his pass protection skills during the game.
Sanders man-marked the opposition receiver, blocked a pass, and even made a brilliant third-down stop in the fourth quarter. Despite the 25-0 loss to the East, Shilo left a good impression.

After the game, Shilo Sanders called out his critics by comparing himself to newly elected president Donald Trump.

Sanders’ only concern is the NFL scouts and their perspective. He views the criticism from unknown people as stupid.
Shilo Sanders aims to step out of his father’s shadow
Shilo grew up surrounded by athletes, whether his mother or older sibling, and even the ones who are younger than him. However, none of them come close to his father, Deion Sanders’ legacy. The former NFL cornerback is a living legend, a Hall of Famer with two Super Bowl rings to his name.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Shedeur made his name as Colorado’s quarterback, receiving national recognition, whereas Shilo in some cases became an afterthought despite a few eye-popping performances during his time in Boulder County. Shilo doesn’t want to limit himself to just another Sanders. He wants to step out of his father’s and brother’s shadow by making a name for himself.

That’s admirable of him, but at the same time a very hard task to accomplish. If he continues to show growth and polish his craft, then perhaps he will have a good NFL career. He played a total of 32 games in college football for South Carolina, Jackson State, and Colorado, recording 131 solo tackles while assisting further 36 (167 combined tackles), 2 tackles for loss, one sack, one pass deflection, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble return.
