Shedeur Sanders has been the most popular college prospect to come into the NFL for quite some time. Being Deion Sanders‘ son has helped in a major way, and now, the quarterback is waiting to play his first game in the league.

That popularity has been evident as his jersey has been selling a lot more than other draft prospects, even coming close to eclipsing some of the established superstars. The popularity saw him become a target for pranksters during his free fall in the 2025 Draft, but it proved that the 23-year-old is a sought-after figure despite not playing a single regular-season game.

Now, he awaits his turn as the Cleveland Browns’ QB2, hoping that he will get the chance to prove his worth. Many fans and analysts want him to start instead of Dillon Gabriel.

That popularity led his brother, and former Colorado teammate, Shilo Sanders, to come up with a prank. The safety decided to wear his brother’s Browns No. 12 jersey and walk around the streets adjacent to Acrisure Stadium.

As he walked around, some Browns fans approached him. When he asked the fans if they knew who he was, they replied that he was Shedeur Sanders. Knowing his impersonation worked, he continued conversing with them.

He appreciated some fans who wanted the quarterback to become the starter for the Browns and were cheering for him to fulfill his dreams. Then he noticed that his brother’s popularity was not restricted to just Browns fans.

Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers also came over asking for autographs and posed for pictures. All of this confirms that the Colorado QB, despite yet to make his debut, is one of the most popular athletes in the NFL.

Shilo Sanders asks his mother to help Shedeur Sanders become the Browns’ starting QB

After interacting with fans, Shilo Sanders made his way inside Acrisure Stadium and caught up with his brother, Shedeur Sanders, and their mother, Pilar Sanders.

While discussing how he managed to impersonate the QB, the jovial safety then decided to have some fun with his brother and mother by asking this:

What if Coach Stefanski said if you and Dad sit together for a whole game, then Shedeur can start? Would you do it?

Shilo Sanders asked his mother

This question sent his family members into splits. While still laughing, their mother replied,

Honey, you’re never getting in.

Hearing this disappointed them, but they knew it was the running joke in the family. The rift between the former couple was evident when the two brothers were graduating from Colorado.

Pilar Sanders was married to Deion Sanders for 14 years. Their divorce was likely ugly, as they battled for custody of their three children. The Hall of Famer ended up receiving sole conservatorship of their sons, while both received joint conservatorship of their daughter, Shelomi Sanders.

Demand for Shedeur Sanders to start is growing more than ever

Football fans were livid when the Cleveland Browns named Dillon Gabriel as their starting quarterback after trading away Joe Flacco. They wanted the franchise to give their 5th-round pick a chance.

Those calls grew louder when the Oregon QB seemingly played conservatively in their close Week 5 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Then, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Gabriel could not engineer a touchdown despite throwing the ball 52 times.

Now, fans and analysts are questioning head coach Kevin Stefanksi‘s motives. Some believe the Browns’ leadership is giving Gabriel a chance to prove Sanders’ fans wrong.

On the other hand, others logically believe that the franchise is just following the team’s hierarchy and will hand over the job to Shedeur Sanders once they are sure that he is ready.
