For the first time since May 5, 2023, Shinsuke Nakamura competed on SmackDown last night. Nakamura squared off against Andrade ahead of his match at Survivor Series: WarGames. Following a back-and-forth encounter, Nakamura picked up the win. In the closing moments of the bout, Nakamura seemingly took off the top turnbuckle while Andrade attempted the Meteora.
If that wasn’t enough, The King of Strong Style delivered a devastating Kinshasa to the former AEW wrestler. Nakamura came out on SmackDown with a new theme song, marking his character shift after his shocking return a few weeks ago. The 44-year-old star targeted LA Knight and made his intentions to win the United States Championship clear.
Since returning, Nakamura has gotten the better of Knight in their confrontations. In fact, the latter even came out following Nakamura’s win but received a mist to the face. As such, The Megastar will be defending his United States Title against the Japanese wrestler on tonight’s Survivor Series: WarGames PLE.

Although Shinsuke Nakamura has outsmarted Knight so far, the champion has succeeded in defending his title seven times. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if this new version of Nakamura manages to dethrone Knight and become a three-time United States Champion at Survivor Series.
Shinsuke Nakamura wrestled in first match on SmackDown since WWE Draft 2024
Not only was this Shinsuke Nakamura’s first match on the blue brand since May 2023, but it was the first time he competed on SmackDown since the Draft. The last time fans saw Nakamura wrestling on television was in April earlier this year.

Nakamura lost to Sheamus in an impromptu bout that served as the latter’s return match. For reasons unknown, The King of Strong Style had not appeared on WWE television for almost seven months. Although he wrestled on house shows, the company felt no need to involve Nakamura in weekly programming.
Last year, Nakamura turned heel and feuded with the likes of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. However, both rivalries didn’t meet fan expectations, with many questioning whether he still possessed the ability to compete at the main event level. With that said the former Intercontinental Champion will have the chance to prove his critics wrong against LA Knight.
