Shinsuke Nakamura is already a veteran of WWE, having been with the company for over eight years. He left NJPW and made his debut in 2016. He had an impressive start and won the NXT Championship twice in his debut year. Not only that, he also won the 2018 Royal Rumble, adding another achievement to his legendary career.

However, his career never took off the way he would’ve wanted, and he never became the company’s top guy. This made many fans think about his future in WWE and his possible move back to Japan. While speaking with Aaron Bronsteter of Sportsnet, Shinsuke Nakamura stated that he was happy with his position in the Stamford-based company.

The King of Strong Style expressed his desire to continue wrestling for WWE and deliver more dream matches for fans. He labeled himself a challenger who always keeps challenging for the top spot. According to several reports, Nakamura liked being in the USA, and his move to NJPW didn’t seem possible.

I’ve been wrestling (for WWE) over eight years right now. I want to keep wrestling for WWE to give the fans more dream matches. That’s what I want to do, I want to show my passion. Also, I brought the Japanese style to WWE but still I think I’m not accomplished. I’m still a challenger, I keep challenging.

Speaking about his WWE run in 2024, it has been a disaster, to say the least. The Artist has wrestled in a total of 40 matches and lost a staggering 39 of them. He lost a chance to challenge Gunther for the I.C. Title at WrestleMania XL, but Sami Zayn took that opportunity and capitalized. Fans are clamoring for him to excel once more.

Baron Corbin requested Shinsuke Nakamura to corner him for his upcoming fight

The 44-year-old veteran was recently seen at the UFC 303 event to support his fellow Japanese fighter, Rei Tsuruya. Following the news, SmackDown star Baron Corbin made a special request to Nakamura on social media.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion took to X and requested that The Artist corner him in his next fight. He will be competing in an International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation event on July 26 in Orlando. Recently, Corbin won a gold medal in the Gi Adult Masters division at the Jiu Jitsu World League last December.

The Lone Wolf was recently drafted to SmackDown after a successful run in NXT. He participated in the King of the Ring tournament but lost in the first round to Carmelo Hayes. It will be interesting to see whether he manages to replicate the success he had with the black-and-gold brand.
