India suffered a heartbreak seven months ago, when they lost the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia in Ahmedabad after winning all the ten games before it. They were able to avenge the ODI World Cup 2023 final loss with a historic win in the T20 World Cup 2024 final in Barbados.
Shoaib Akhtar congratulated the Indian captain Rohit Sharma after India clinched the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 trophy
Rohit Sharma has led from the front in both the ODI World Cup 2023 and the T20 World Cup 2024. He has been absolutely sensational as a captain and played selflessly as a batter. Sharma was heartbroken after the ODI World Cup 2023 final loss.

However, he got his much-needed result of his hardwork after his team beat South Africa in a nerve-wrecking final in Barbados. After the win, Shoaib Akhtar congratulated Sharma on his X profile for his dedication and determination to lift the World Cup trophy.
Rohit Sharma has made it. Emotions are really high, well-deserving victory for India. Many, many congratulations to them. They lost in Ahmedabad (ODI World Cup final). I have said then also that India deserved to win. And this time they won it. Rohit Sharma was down on the ground, crying, says it all. What this win means to him.
