Today, two star wide receivers have been traded from their teams, the first being Davante Adams, who is set to reunite with Aaron Rodgers in New York, and the second, a rather unexpected one, Amari Cooper, who will be going to Buffalo.
In a shocking move, the Cleveland Browns have decided to trade their star wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a third-round pick as per Ian Rapoport. The Bills have been looking to add more weapons since the departure of Stefon Diggs in their receiver room.
The team drafted Keon Coleman to give Josh Allen a better shot at winning but it never hurts to add a veteran to the roster. Amari Cooper has had 24 receptions for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns with the Browns. He is averaging 10.4 yards per game. However, his team has not been doing as well. The Browns sit at the bottom of the AFC North having won just 1 game and lost 5.

Amari Cooper joins a Buffalo Bills squad that sits atop the AFC East
Overnight, the wide receiver’s fortunes have turned as he is now headed to a significantly better team with a talented quarterback in Josh Allen who has been lights out this season. The Bills are 4-2 this season without Cooper, his addition will just boost this offense.
Surprisingly, the Cleveland Browns made this trade considering Amari Cooper has been the most consistent offensive weapon this season. The team traded him for a third and seventh-round pick. Buffalo will get Cooper and a sixth-round pick. The wideout’s contract was restructured earlier this year and he is an absolute steal for Buffalo because the team will get him on a minimum contract. His base salary stood at $20 million while he received incentives of up to $5 million as per the Associated Press.
The Cleveland Browns are 1-5 this season. The team’s struggles arise from the lack of production on offense owing to a string of bad performances by Deshaun Watson. To make matters worse, the team’s offensive line has not helped the quarterback as he remains the most sacked in the NFL. With this change in scenario, Amari Cooper gets the opportunity to play a significant part on a winning team with a competent and skillful quarterback in Josh Allen.
