Los Angeles Dodgers’ star Shohei Ohtani has gotten the better of his manager Dave Roberts again. Recently he pulled off another car prank on him in the parking lot, leaving his manager shocked once again.
In May 2024, Ohtani played a car prank with Roberts. Earlier in the year, he had gifted Joe Kelly‘s wife Ashley a luxurious Porsche car for him giving up his number 17 jersey. Dave Roberts thought that he might be getting a real car as a gift as well after Ohtani broke the Dodgers franchise record for most home runs hit by a Japanese-born player.
Instead, Ohtani would shock his manager by giving him a toy Porsche car in the press conference. The two of them would end up sharing a good laugh on this matter nine months ago.
The 2024 NL MVP has now pulled off another similar prank on Roberts. In a video shared by the Dodgers on X, Roberts could seen making his way out of the parking lot.
On his way out, the 62-year-old would come across a kid-sized toy car. After clicking a selfie with that car, he started looking for a real car as Ohtani gave him the keys.
He would soon realize what was going on as the keys Ohtani gave him failed to open a BMW car. The two-way star had brought his manager the toy-sized car instead of a real one. The 3-time World Series champion would later sit down on the small car and pose for a photo while issuing a challenge for Ohtani.

Dave Roberts impressed by Shohei Ohtani’s first bullpen session with Dodgers
Shohei Ohtani‘s return to the pitching mound is something that the fans are eagerly looking forward to. During the Spring Training, he took part in his first bullpen session with the Los Angeles Dodgers. His manager Dave Roberts seemed impressed with what he saw.

Ohtani has not pitched in the MLB since suffering a shoulder injury in August 2023. At the moment he is working on getting ready to play as the pitcher again.
In a recent training session, Ohtani threw 14 pitches. All of these were two seams and four-seam fastballs ranging between 92 to 94 mph. Roberts would later speak with the media regarding his matter and claimed that he (Ohtani) looked “great”.
I thought it was great. Just kind of seeing his delivery, which was really good, the clean arm stroke. … Gosh, the velocity, the ball was coming out really good. I think he seems pretty pleased with it, and the command was really good. So really positive.

As of now an official timeline on his return has not been set yet. However, both Ohtani and Roberts think that May could be the month when he makes his official debut as a pitcher for the Dodgers. For now, the team’s pitching rotation includes Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, Tyler Glasnow, Dustin May, and Tony Gonsolin.
