Indian cricket star and Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill was caught blushing, after commentator Danny Morrison posed an out-of-the box question about his wedding. The hilarious conversation between the two took place ahead of GT’s IPL encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders. 

Shubman Gill, in just his second season as captain in the IPL, has shown off his leadership abilities for Gujarat Titans. The 25-year-old, who is often touted as the future of Indian cricket, also enjoys a massive fan following. He was appointed the GT skipper after Hardik Pandya departed the team to rejoin Mumbai Indians, last summer. Gill has also been elevated to the position of vice-captain in the Indian ODI team.

The 25-year-old, known for his calm and composed nature, has had a convincing campaign so far with the bat as well, scoring 305 runs in seven matches at an average of 43.57 and a strike-rate of 153.27. The 2023 Orange Cap winner has spearheaded Gujarat Titans’ strong batting lineup, alongside teammates Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford.

Shubman Gill has scored three fifties in the tournament so far, with his most recent one coming against his former team, KKR. Gill’s 55-ball 90 run innings helped GT post a massive total of 198 runs, at the Eden Gardens. While Shubman Gill’s match performance was the talk of the town, a light-hearted conversation with commentator Danny Morrison during the toss, caught fans’ attention.

The Indian opener was stunned after the former New Zealand cricketer bowled him over with a question regarding his marriage. He was left blushing, as Morrison queried whether he is getting married in the near future, while also noting the GT skipper’s smile. An uncomfortable Shubman Gill shifted his posture and was caught off guard with the question, as he went on to nervously admit that there is nothing like that.

Nonetheless, Shubman Gill has often found himself in the spotlight for his rumored relationships. A year ago, rumors had emerged of him being in a relationship with Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara Tendulkar. Social media was flooded with humorous takes on the situation. Moreover, the Gujarat Titans skipper was also rumored to be in a relationship with Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan, in the mid-2020s. 

No, nothing of that sort.

While Shubman Gill was left in an awkward position after his conversation with Danny Morrision, it did not reflect up his match display or his leadership. Nonetheless, he guided his side to a comfortable 39-run victory over KKR, as the home side managed to score just 159 runs, while chasing. GT now remains on top of the IPL 2025 table with 12 points from eight games.

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill admitted that he could not control his emotions following Venkatesh Iyer’s dismissal, during an intense IPL encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders. The 25-year-old wildly celebrated the wicket, giving his former teammate an aggressive send-off.

The young Indian opener did not shy away from giving a send-off to Venkatesh Iyer in the 12th over of the match. Iyer was caught out at deep square leg, off a brilliant delivery from R Sai Kishore. The GT skipper immediately went up to Kishore and thumped his chest, while shouting in excitement. Gill later admitted that he could not control his emotions, as he felt that Iyer’s wicket was an important moment in the game.

It is quite unusual, keeping in mind the 25-year-old’s calm demeanor. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan recorded their sixth hundred run partnership in the IPL. It also put them joint-third on the list of most century partnerships, level on terms with former SRH duo of Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner.
