Shubman Gill returns as captain as BCCI announce squad for India versus Zimbabwe
India see a rise in new faces as they gear up for Zimbabwe.

BCCI announced its squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe and Shubman Gill made his way back to the team and that too as the captain of the team. Other notable inclusions to the team were that of Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Riyan Parag and Tushar Deshpande.
The likes of Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mukesh Kumar are also fairly new to the Indian team in terms of experience but given the fact that they have already donned the Indian threads, it was kind of expected that they were coming in.
Indian squad: Ꮪhubman Gill (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (wk), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Nitish Reddy, Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Tushar Deshpande.
With Gill finding himself enmeshed in speculations about his return from the Indian team, this move will be shutting the mouths of all the critics who believed that he was done for good. However, the inclusion of Riyan Parag, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhishek Sharma were big rewards for the youngsters after impressing heavily in the IPL.
This will be a golden chance for Sanju Samson to showcase himself considering the fact that he is one of the senior players. Dhruv Jurel will also have an incredible opportunity of learning the sport. Rinku Singh’s presence in the team simply enhances the depth in the batting order.
The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav were rested ahead of a gruesome season which will have very limited break between the games.
Fixtures for India vs Zimbabwe
The series begins on July 6th and will feature the two teams go head to head in Harare Sports Club. The second T20I is slated to be played on 7th July while the following encounter will be played on 10th July.
India will be concluding the series with matches on 13th and 14th July consecutively. The series with Zimbabwe is just the opening chapter of what is going to be a very long season for Indian cricket as the former schedule released by BCCI suggests.
