A compilation of the best on-court chats of 2020 is now out on YouTube. The video features some funny exchanges between players, some heated exchanges and a few smarts quips.

One of the moments was when Novak Djokovic was speaking to someone in the crowd during his Italian Open final match against Diego Schwartzman. Someone in the stand had shouted that it had started raining to which Djokovic sarcastically replied, “No kidding, really? I didn’t think so. I thought it was sunny.”

Another moment was during the ATP Cup tie between Great Britain and Australia, featuring Alex De Minaur and Nick Kyrgios against the doubles pairing of Jamie Murray and Joe Salisbury. After Kyrgios won a point for his team, he picked up the microphone and said ‘good work.’ However, it was unclear if he said it to himself or his partner.

One of the best chats of the year came in exhibition match pitting Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Roger Federer against Rafael Nadal and television show host Trevor Noah in South Africa. Roger Federer commented on Nadal’s forehand and stated that “he was sick and tired of it,” as he had witnessed them go past him several times.

Another moment came during a tour match between Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner. However, this was more of a heated conversation between the two. The German approached the chair umpire after his serve was called wide, after which Sinner passed a comment which was not audible. Zverev did not take it too well and replied, “Relax, relax, I’m not even talking to you”.

Milos Raonic engaged in a funny banter in a tour game with his opponent. Raonic asked his opponent, “How do you want me to return that one?” His opponent replied, “I don’t want you to return it,” during the switch over.
