The three points in this game saw Crosby take his total points tally to 89 (41 goals and 48 assists) for this season. With just three more matches remaining in the regular season, the fans are hoping he can continue this form as the try and make it to the Stanley Cup playoffs which starts next week.
The two points from this win saw the Penguins leapfrog their arch rivals Washington Capitals in the final wildcard spot. They currently lead them by one point and with the New York Islanders looking good to secure the third position in the division, both the Pens and Caps cannot afford anymore slip ups.
