Romanian ace Simona Halep is all set to continue her comeback run in tennis. After a rather anticlimactic return at the Miami Open, the Romanian is all ready to set foot on the clay court again. Soon after being cleared of the ban, Halep was offered wildcard entry into the Miami Open.
However, it soon turned out to be a failed opportunity for the former Wimbledon and French Open winner, as she lost in the first round at the Miami Open. Nonetheless, the upcoming Oeiras Open presented another opportunity for the Romanian.

Halep received a wildcard entry into the Oeiras Open in Portugal, which will mark her comeback to the clay courts. The last time Halep was seen on the clay courts was in the second round of the 2022 Roland Garros, where she lost to Qinwen Zheng.
The former World No. 1 thanked the Portuguese Tennis Federation for offering her a straight opportunity to play in the main draw of their WTA 125 tournament. Excited to play in Portugal, she thanked the organizers and intends to play as many matches as possible.
I'm very excited to add a new tournament to my calendar. On my return to the WTA circuit I intend to play as many matches as possible and accepting this wild card gives me the opportunity to do so in front of the Portuguese public. I want to thank the tournament for welcoming me and I can't wait to be there,Said Simona Halep via Bola Amarela.
Simona Halep returns to Portugal as one of the four wildcards for the upcoming WTA 125 tournament
For her next tournament, Halep returned to Portugal after a decade as a wildcard into the upcoming Oeiras Open. The Romanian had not played a tournament in Portugal since the 2011 Estoril Open and is one of the four lucky wildcard entries into the WTA 125 tournament.

Along with Kristina Mladenovic, Francisca Jorge, and Matilde Jorge, the Romanian will also make her mark on the clay court.
After a rather disappointing start, Halep would hope to get back on track in the upcoming tournaments.
