Simone Biles had a wardrobe upgrade and the Chicago Bears fans weren’t happy about it. The American gymnast recently found herself under public scrutiny for wearing a Packers jacket to her husband Jonathan Owens‘ Chicago Bears vs Cincinnati Bengals preseason game. While she did not respond to the criticism back then, she did now.

Jonathan Owens spent only one season with the Green Bay Packers before signing a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears during the offseason. The jacket that made Simone Biles a subject of criticism had pictures of Owens in Packers gear and some of the team’s logos. It made many fans upset to the extent that it caused them to question the loyalty of the gymnast toward the Bears’ safety. However, during her appearance at the Global Summit on Women’s Mental Health, Simone Biles made sure to let the fans know of her wardrobe upgrade.

“Yes, I have plenty (of Bears gear) now. so, don’t you worry, guys!” Simone Biles reassured the fans.

Although the Olympic champion did not respond to the brutal comments right away, she did indirectly mention them. In an Instagram Thread, Simone Biles wrote that she wanted to clap back but chose to remain classy. The backlash came not just from the fans, but also from the NFL critic Dave Portnoy who openly expressed his dislike for the outfit choice.

Regardless, Biles might soon get the critics’ approval with her next appearance at the NFL games. Owens’ Bears officially start the 2024 season against the Tennessee Titans in Chicago on Sunday afternoon. However, fans will have to wait as Biles might miss the first couple of weeks of the season because of her Gold Over America Tour which is set to end on November 2nd.

Simone Biles has always supported her husband, even though both their professions brought them long durations apart. Therefore, she was also unapologetic about her latest appearance at the preseason game where she donned the Packers jacket. However, as it turns out, Biles could have avoided the whole fiasco.

Biles was warned by her friend against wearing the jacket. In an episode of “Hard Knocks” by HBO, her friend revealed having expressed her disapproval of the jacket. However as the events have played out, the American gymnast did not pay her any heed.

Regardless of it all, Simone Biles ended up owning to it. Now, Biles will be supporting the Bears’ safety from afar. Despite the fans eager to see her cheer Owens at the games, it remains uncertain if she will be able to pop up in the stands any time soon.
