Manchester United are struggling for success and to establish form in official competition. Many have called for manager Erik ten Hag to be sacked following a horrendous start to the new season. With just 8 points in seven games, many have blamed the management for still holding on to the Dutchman. While his position still remains unharmed, another club legend, probably their biggest ever, has been forced out of the club.
Sir Alex Ferguson‘s contribution to Manchester United‘s success cannot be understated. The manager led the Red Devils to a plethora of titles during his time at the club. However, reports state the club have decided to terminate his multi-million pound contract as ambassador to United.
The layoff comes as part of a set of decisions the club has made to cut costs in operations. Ferguson will leave his position at the end of the season. In response to the surprising layoff, former United captain Eric Cantona went on an angry rant on social media.
Ferguson should be able to do anything he wants at the club till the day he dies. It’s a lack of respect and totally scandalous. I throw them all in a big bag of sh*t.

Following the decision, fans have expressed their protest at the same and called the management out for its ‘insensitivity’.

A fan commented that Manchester United somehow managed to sack their biggest legend before they got themselves to sending off Erik ten Hag. Another added that INEOS will come under a lot of hate for their decision, which will most likely backfire in the coming months. With their decision to stick to Ten Hag for the meanwhile, a fan commented that many will lose their love for the club.
However, not all appeared to sympathize with the legend. A fan stated that it is high time the 82-year-old left the club for good and United began focusing on a proper successor for Ten Hag. Speaking of Eric Cantona’s reaction on social media, fans appeared to agree with the Frenchman. Many blamed INEOS and the club management as a whole for how they treat their legends.
Starting with Cristiano Ronaldo, fans claimed that the club has forgotten how to respect their legends. It is understood that Ferguson will continue as a non-executive director and is ‘obviously’ welcome to attend United games. As things stand, United are looking to bring in new players and focus on certain departures to lighten the wage bill.
